World of Warcraft

Sounds like grifting thots realised that making video games can result in lot of money to be had.

Unless there is a police report and medical forensic evidence, it did not happen.

Or does Blizzard make its game in a Hills have eyes hicktown where everyone and the local sherif are related and the 911 call is just met by Officer Incest making farting noises?

I like Jason claiming that he never acts on rumors, but went full retard on Microsoft buying Square Enix which directly caused their stock price to plummet and that was a rumor with less than zero evidence.

No clue if this is a bug or not yet, but sounds like something they'd do. Put this in the "Blizzard fixing the real problems" column.

Looks like on the BC Classic PTR, you can only use the /spit emote without targeting anyone. If you target someone to /spit on them, the emote doesn't work.

Maybe people actually appropriately felt ashamed of buying the portal pass mount that Asmongold got a bunch of people to /spit on whenever seen.

It would make sense from the standpoint of the whales being shamed in game getting upset and possibly hurting their monetization efforts.

On the subject of the Cosby rapes, this shit was in the public consciousness as early as 2005. The witnesses weren't the most credible so it wasn't taken seriously, but it wasn't some completely outlandish scenario.

I bring this up because I'm kinda tired of seeing people try to come up with bad faith rationalizations for the Cosby Suite. The dude was known to be a lecherous drunk by pretty much every housewife in America, and there's really no reason to believe that the people in that picture weren't at least somewhat aware of Cosby's reputation.

Cosby had a reputation as a drunken lecher. These guys were planning on getting drunk and picking up chicks. And in 2013 it wasn't quite the capital offense it is today. So it all checks out.

It was clearly a frathouse-tier in-joke, not an altar venerating the patron saint of date rape. Assuming further malicious intent post-facto is also in bad faith.

These are 30-something men who are major figures at the company publicly posing in front of a photograph of a known sex pest at an official company event.

Acting like this is some grand misunderstanding is engaging in dindu reasoning. Either they're retarded or malicious (or both).

You haven't been around 30-something men during conventions all that much, have you? I've seen the same "hey, let's get drunk and pick up chicks after we're done here!" attitude in civil engineering symposiums. Believe me, it's pretty much universal among single guys who aren't complete shut-ins (and with a lot of married guys too, for that matter), These assholes were still riding high (WoW was past its peak during Mists of Pandaria but it was still popular) at a games convention. I would be surprised if there weren't calls to go get drunk and pick up chicks.

That's not to say some of them aren't sex pests. Afrasiabi very likely is one. But assuming malice when simple stupidity will do (and 30-something men are still very stupid) is just as bad as pointing at that image and screaming that every man in there had a blister pack of rohypnol in his back pocket. Which is exactly what reddit/twitter has been doing.

So yes, I'm firmly on the "they're retarded" camp.

This is a fair enough position. I'm more talking about the crowd (specifically Bellular weirdly enough) who want to go out of their way to paint this as a completely innocent joke gone wrong. Like obviously this is some crude, frat-house humor but everyone involved is too nervous to come out and say, "Yeah, we made some jokes in poor taste back in 2013 and we didn't realize it would be taken in this context."

All evidences point to both, ditching all reason and logic for REEEREE FEEFEE. The fact this, not bad gameplay and a store that sells overpriced mounts is why Blizzard is going down shows where people's priorities lie, both the gamers, the corpos and the woke nutters. The only people I feel sorry for in this mess are the people working in blizz that actually care about WoW and their other IPs who are in the crossfire and have to deal with this shit.

I unironically feel a little bad for Ion. He's a raidnigger through and through and arguably has a lot to do with the game's current state, but I feel like his autism would actually be a force for good if it was backed up by competent management. Dude just wants to make raids and they have him out here running the entire game despite it being obvious that he has no interest in anything except raids.

Having Ion being the raidnigger and then letting everyone else focus on other stuff would have done wonders for WoW, he really shouldn't have been the lead dev in WoW because that did bottleneck the gameplay.

Another thing: any timeline of the cosby accusations has an 8-year gap where NOTHING is happening from 2006 to late 2014, and that's where everything related to the cosby suite was done. And considering that he was still getting rewards and honours in that period, it's pretty clear that either very few people believed it or very few people cared.

Here's an excerpt of the list of honorary degrees Cosby has been awarded, during the eight-year gap:

Note two things:

1: There's at least one for nearly every year he was supposedly a known rapist
and 2: The were rescinded either late 2015 or late 2018. That's when the cosby stuff got damning enough to make people want to distance themselves from him. And remember, these are all colleges. They're bastions of the woke.

Taking the 'the blizzarded knew what they were doing' angle at face value means that a PR section let them joke about a generally agreed rapist and pose with a picture of him, and nobody questioned it. The only reason it's even being questioned now is because of the harassment charges, not the existence of this room at that time in itself.

That's how it goes in most entertainment conventions. The cosby thing likely comes from some joke that under any other context, is just funny because you're drunk, and someone either printed out the portrait or got it at some flea market. Reddit/Twitter are making it out to be this big ploy to make Cosby into their revered idol of what they stand for, when in reality it's far more likely to be a stupid convention "joke". It could have been a character from some hentai for all I care.

The guy telling a story about carpets is a total bellend though. It's terrible optics and sounds like someone is trying to finely weave an escape rope.

Their taste in jokes is like their taste in alcohol.

I'm surprised men in their 30ies have such awful drink tastes.

Having raidniggers run the game ruined it for everyone else. Raidniggers always want more obtuse BS to theorycraft, more crap to grind, and more difficult encounters. I agree, they should have left Ion to handle raiding content exclusively.

The awarding of honorary degrees is more damning than it looks. Celebs used to rush out and get as many of these as possible to launder their reputation in anticipation of major controversy. Considering his career was already mostly over at the time, I find it very strange that this specific period of time was when he received all of his honorary degrees.

Read the actual link @Disc posted. That wasn't the full list, it was only the honorary degrees he got between 2006 and 2014.

The man received an average of almost 2.5 honorary degrees per year, for almost 30 years. He must have been extremely thorough with his efforts to launder his reputation... even during the Cosby Show's peak popularity years.

Pyromancer, long time lore video creator, has been playing FFXIV on stream lately. He's been alluding to his discontent with Blizzard the last few weeks, but a troll today just set him off. He unloaded on this seven minute rant earlier today that was fucking amazing. I feel for the guy, his videos have been some of my favorite on the Wow lore side. And honestly, I think his theories are better and more thought out writing than anything the WoW writers have come up with in the last damn near decade. Timestamped below.

Lol what a fucking soy fueled faggot.

He's HAD IT with Mid 40 year old men who can't keep their hands to themselves, HAD IT I tell you. His voice cracking speaks louder than any real evidence ever could. If it was any decibel higher people might mistake HIM for a shrieking woman.
