It's within the realm of possibility that Chris lied about going to the mall to Null.

Afaik he doesn't have a ticket and isn't welcome there - and Chris is an incredibly visually distinctive person, so people would know it was him immediately - but I've no idea what security is like in those places.

I wouldn't put it past Chris but I think it's more likely he stole $750 to sustain himself more than anything else.

I'm getting a kick out of the Subreddit Drama thread. These are usually the most cloyingly pronoun obsessed people on the internet, but now with chris they are misgendering them over and over again. Because chris is different I guess? I don't know. I think most sane people just look at Chris and realize this person is fucked up in a way that all talk of gender kind of becomes meaningless. Chris is probably the first person to truly transcend the entire concept, he's not male, female, queer, or anything else. Chris's gender is insanity.

I've been totally broke before. It's not fun and it hits you right in the lizard brain and puts you into fight or flight mode. But there's things you can do to at least get some food in you for the night. Hell, people joke about dumpster diving but grocery stores literally throw out perfectly good food all the time. It's actually very hard in America to flat out starve, and while sleeping in the car sucks it'll at least keep you out of the rain (and what the fuck is gonna happen to chris in Ruckersville anyway?). Chris probably panicked and just said "fuck it" because he was worried about where he'd get his morning McDonald's or whatever the fuck.

The thing that confuses me is he also thought at the time that Null was going to wire him a bunch of money. So he did this for what is basically no reason.

Yeah I'm not sure how it is these days, but back in the before-times, McDonald's would throw out any food that had sat under a heat lamp for more than 10 min or so, and you could just wait for an employee to dump it and then eat as much hot, slightly old McDonald's as your little hungry broke-ass could eat. Chris wouldn't know this of course, and imagining Chris trying to get into and back out of a dumpster is hilarious.
