I don't know if its been said, the thread is moving too quick for me to keep up, but the money transfer being theft might be murky.
If Chris is titled on the account as a co-signer then technically the bank would see the money as jointly owned, despite whatever arraignment Barb and Chris have.
Even if Chris is not the account, typically they would be looking for Barb to confirm its family fraud and is okay with the bank perusing prosecution. However, Barb most certainly would qualify as a vulnerable adult, so if the bank gets wind of the situation, they will be required to report it due to government regulations (FEEVA).
I don't really know what happens after the bank reports it, but if Barb waves if off like its no big deal, it would probably make that difficult to prosecute.
That said, I've never watched a training video where the old person in the video is also being molested by their children who are stealing from them, I feel like this is new ground.
I'm sure the EPO changes things though, it might not be up to Barb to determine if its legitimate family fraud.
