Peculiar about the audio is that Chris seemed to actively be shooting down the idea of getting with this Fiona person. Yes, Fiona is in all likelihood a troll, but it doesn't appear to be Barb as others have suggested (because Bella refers to Fiona and Barb separately, mentioning that Chris could be with "both" of them).
This leads me to believe that Chris had gotten so accustomed to just crawling over Barb that he completely reprioritized having sex any other way. It's like the nightmare fuel equivalent of post nut clarity apathy. He was willing to turn down the (apparent) opportunity for sex with a woman to instead have sex with his mother. He knew what he was doing and genuinely considered it the easier route to just continue having sex with Barb until a boyfriend-free-girl fell in his lap as opposed to actively pursuing relationships anymore.

As a result I can't imagine Chris possibly trying to book it to Everfree on his own when he has no funds. He's transcended your typical notions of sheer laziness and will not make any effort (beyond balling up, possibly) to avoid the authorities or get in one last trip before the other shoe drops.
