Chris has been arrested

I'm not a burger so I wouldn't know, are the appointed lawyers free? Can you refuse to be assigned one?
Iirc there's a whole "pro-bono" system in which lawyers take on cases that need lawyering. If the clients are required to pay the lawyers Chris might decide it too expensive to accept, barring him from buying another set of 50 amiibos in the process
The appointed lawyer is free but you get the one you get or you don't get one at all.
Some people decide they're better off representing themselves, like Florida Man.

Ethan Ralph said he would stream the hearing, i checked but killstream is not live yet. I also doubt he could get in there.

What baffles me are all the troons whinging about people misgendering Chris. Never mind the fact he raped his dementia ridden 79 year old mother, how dare people misgender him!
Misgendering is a dumb concept. People use gender pronouns to communicate about someone in the third person, not when actually talking to the person in question, so you want to go with what's most easily identifiable to the other person so you don't confuse them. Let's be real, who actually sees a woman when they look at Chris?

The only way he couldn't is if it's not open to the public, which means Ralph needs to pony up some arrest stream funds and buy the transcript.

They put handcuffs on him, that means he is a suspect. His offense is listed as "incest", but in the wrong category, I think, something about Chris sleeping with his child or grandchild. There should be something more.

police frequently put the wrong subsection in the arrest. They usually default to commonly used charges.

Probably just an error.

It's a package thing like court costs. It's only like that because it's expensive to live here.

Alright thanks for clarifications. Without any more counsel (or with the wrong one) Chris might do the dumb move to represent himself, so there's a chance this becomes hilariously sadder.

So arrest is possible only when there's a shred of evidence I gather ? There's no "preventive arrest waiting for evidence" system ?
I guess so. In any case, Barb was in protective care after that call was released to the police. I doubt, that they wouldn't check her and if she told them that Chris rapes her, but there was no evidence, they would just considered them both mental. I mean, it's not hard to believe that Barb is senile and Chris isn't a reliable source of info.

If a defendant can’t afford a lawyer one is assigned to them. You can decide to defend yourself though.

Do not know if anyone asked the sheriffs department this, but I called and asked if Chris was being held with the females since he identifies as one. The lady on the line said that "yes, he is being held with the gender he identifies as." Chris was like a kid in a candy shop last night.
