I dont think he's capable of understanding that he can be held accountable for his actions. He probably thinks he'll be released and going home soon.
To be fair that's also the experience he has to go off of. While hitting someone with your car or macing people is serious, he had his lovey, age, and the general boredom of the legal system in his favor. This time he has really put himself in trouble and it's been picked up by mainstream.
well at least they'll think ''yeah clearly he's gone up there, we can't send him to prison, he needs the not guilty by reason of insanity verdict."
convicting Chris and sending him to hard time may as well be the same as giving him the death penalty. He'll be dead in a week or so because he'll never "get with the program." in prison. He'll constantly piss off the tougher inmates with his antics and constantly get sent to the infirmary untill they have enough of him and pay off some of the lifers to get rid of him.
Structure, real and enforced structure while away from the Internet may actually be helpful to Chris. Even in what we've seen from his interactions with Null who certainly didn't pander to his merge bullshit - Chris responds in a slightly more responsible manner. He is, if convicted, going to be in a heavily structured and monitored environment that will also likewise include mandatory group and individual therapy.
