They likely read one tutorial suggesting that you shouldn't use pure white for teeth and eyes and these retards took it as NEVER use any semblance of white in anything. One question: why are the whites of their eyes yellowed?
This is why every art school worth a damn makes you draw realistically from life. Internet tutorials are dumb as hell, they give you about as much knowledge as skimming a Wikipedia article. They likely read one tutorial suggesting that you shouldn't use pure white for teeth and eyes and these retards took it as NEVER use any semblance of white in anything.
I've seen a lot of tutorials that say to never use pure white but never explain why. I followed their advice for many years because I've seen the advice from multiple sources so that must mean it's good advice, riiight? They likely read one tutorial suggesting that you shouldn't use pure white for teeth and eyes and these retards took it as NEVER use any semblance of white in anything.
My art tutorial: Do whatever the fuck you want, I'm not your art teacher.I've seen a lot of tutorials that say to never use pure white but never explain why. I followed their advice for many years because I've seen the advice from multiple sources so that must mean it's good advice, riiight?
Back in the old days, I used to use extremely pale blue for white and only in recent times finally pushed that dumb advice out of my head.
It's the same thing when people said to never use pure black. People usually follow that up by suggesting different colours to shade with or use another colour for outlines but never using pure white has no reasoning or follow-up advice.
useing pure white can miss with the transparency of a digital picture its best to use an off white or a very pale color.I've seen a lot of tutorials that say to never use pure white but never explain why. Roughly because pure black, white and grey lack information and are rare in real life. Now I think never use pure balck or white is a bad advice but not using them as your go to is helpful. In real life almost all surfaces reflect light and so reflect other colors around them. So in sun set most surfaces are kinda red, during nights most surfaces are kinda blue and so on. Colors also can give emotional information like red rage, sad blue and energetic orange. Often you just get more realistic and emotive pictures with conservative use of those colors. Then there is how you play with shadows and lights with very dark or lightning surfases so saving black and whites for them can be helpful.I've seen a lot of tutorials that say to never use pure white but never explain why. I hate the idea that the amount of racism you face is proportional to how dark your skin is. Asian people don't look like white people no matter how pale they are.Sorry, this has been addressed in the thread, but why are asian characters basically white to these artists? It's embarrassing, and I interpret it as huge signs on their backs that say "you aren't [ethnicity] unless you conform to my idea of that ethnicity."
Is it just me or does this outfit look impractical? Selina is, you know, Catwoman. Like cats, she's very nimble and flexible and her outfit needs to accommodate that, that's why her outfit is usually depicted as a plain form-fitting suit. The boots on this outfit don't look like they'd allow her ankles to rotate and the heels don't seem very stealthy, but I wouldn't know if big rubber boots make more or less noise than Catwoman's high-heels. The ears are also too long, she could easily get grabbed or caught on something. Imagine Catwoman blowing her cover by banging her ears on a doorframe.
