US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

You should really put the link above the quote. Or not use a quotebox at all. A quote header is not automatically made a link.

Sounds good, thank you! I'm sorry about that, it wasn't until I saw this post and went back and looked at mine that I realized how frustrating it is to interact with. I'll try a new format which will hopefully work better.

Fox News is desperate to draw people back in. I remember when they shut down all discussion of Soros funding.

Speaking ill of Darth Soros is what got Glenn Beck lobotomized.

And in a timely fashion, I found an article that goes into a bit more detail about the moratorium:

(Source)

The truth of the matter is that this was a Congressional failure. If they wanted to extent the moratorium, they needed to pass a law that extended it. The executive branch and the CDC are both massively overstepping their authority to try to make up for a lack of Democratic cohesion and capability, and it's not a stretch to say that this can't end well.
You know shit's bad when even the Washington Bezos Post is running op-eds critical of something this important.

This is less me saying "we should do something about this" and more me emphasizing that there's a reason most people don't do something about it. I wanted to clarify that quickly! I think you're fine, lolwut.
Thanks, and I should clarify that I wasn't sitting there gleefully rubbing my hands together in anticipation of some sort of right wing death squad coming in and gunning down brown people.

It's more that the situation at the border is deteriorating at a breakneck pace and all forecasts say it's only going to get worse. Desperate people do desperate things and right now everyone down there; ranchers, townsfolk, migrants, Border Patrol & ICE, are all stressed to their breaking points (except perhaps the cartels, but every rumor I've ever heard about them says they enjoy the violence).

I feel like we are quickly approaching a Rubicon of sorts and it's a matter of who's going to cross it first. It's frustrating because Biden is acting like the dog that sits in his kitchen going, "This is fine," while his house burns down around him. Sitting on his ass isn't going to keep the house at a "reasonable" level of fire. While he stalls, it's going to continue to grow and burn until at last the support beams give way and the whole structure collapses on top of us all.

I was worried, is what I'm getting at. Whatever riots might result from his handling of covid and the lockdowns can't be worse than whatever is coming from the powder keg in the south.

I don't understand this. It's impeachable that Biden can't do anything legally? That he's actually lucid enough to say that? That he didn't do anything before?

These blue checkmarks would support the Indian Removal Act if it were /their guy/ doing it, just like they do with restrictions on speech, movement, religion, etc.

Same people who point at Biden for everything just leave out the oligarchs running the show of the entire admin. Literally Trump (as seen on TV) II at this point.

I Think she is saying that he should be impeached for doing something he knows is unconstitutional and will be struck down.

My guess is for performing an action you've been explicitly told is unconstitutional, by the highest authority on what is constitutional or not, while under the highest oath to ensure that you do whatever you can to not violate the constitution - That latter part likely being the key aspect to an impeachment argument, deliberate knowing abuse of powers in a way you explicitly swore to not.

Feels like impeachment grasping, like back with Trump though. Not a fan, he's gotta fuck up harder than that to justify giving him that scale of boot.

MtG should push for impeachment just for the lulz.

While it would be lulz worthy, it'd also throw an brick into any 'real' legislative process for a while, and I'd really rather not interrupt my enemy while they are making fools of themselves, yknow. An impeachment move on weak ground would just give the media an excuse to suddenly ignore all their current failings, would give the RINO's a chance to curry favor to reinforce their position by going against it, and would give the Dems an excuse on why they haven't done shit to help people for however long the process takes, even if they could totally focus on other things while it happens.

Better to leave the narrative focus on the moratorium failure, the disaster that its creating, and the fact that they are squarely holding the bag. No need to give them a convenient smoke screen.

You are so very right. At this point the Republicans have to do -nothing-. Mind, have is not the same as 'can'..... anything which exacerbates the disaster from a political end is good. Hence why I love the news out of Pennsylvania.

It's a blatant bluff call after the announcement of trying to do legal action against anyone who tries to audit. And if they fail to make the bluff reality it's going to open the floodgates. Even heard murmurs here in Wisconsin about pushing forward, specifically to -spite- the threat. Nobody likes to be threatened by a bully. It might even make you wanna punch back.
