Chris court appearance

I'm not familiar with incarceration whatsoever, especially not in The US but is it possible for people to call him or is that only after the trial when he's properly locked up? Just wondering how long it will be 'til the "Phone Call Saga" begins. If anyone considering doing so is reading this - fuck you, don't do it.

You can't call people in jail unless they've sneaked in a mobile up their arse. They can only call out.

Thanks, I guess things would only change if someone was somehow granted visitation? And that would likely require months of back and forth writing letters, and even getting Chris to reply in the first place.

You can write to prisoners, but you need a real address. After that, if you were to give Chris your phone number, he could make calls to you, I think still collect, which would get logged.

Visitation would be more difficult, but people could write him all the letters they wanted.

Honestly if Barb & Chris were consensual that horrifies me more than it being rape. Also can they really prosecute him off of just what he's said? Can't he just lie and say it was all bullshit 5d-chess internet trollery?

Consent laws in general are pretty fucked up, since consent is such a fluid and subjective thing.

What if there’s consensual sex, but the other part next day regrets it (let’s say she’s engaged) and talks herself into believing that she didn’t really consent.

What if there’s consent, but it’s not enthusiastic consent, but just a wife who wants to get it over with and knows hubby will be happy?

Consent laws ultimately come down to what’s going on inside the head of the people involved at a given time, and that’s hardly an ideal situation to put the legal system in.

Nah it's not a Get Out of Jail Free card. Something like 2/3rd of the prison population have mental disorders. Only way for him to dodge it with that excuse is if he's not competent enough to stand trial, which is a really tough threshold to meet and even then, he'd end up institutionalized forever in a place that's worse than prison.
