Chris court appearance

They can choose not to pursue charges, though, which would make it very difficult for the state to prove a rape case with an uncooperative victim.
I don't think that things are so bad that Virginia is going to just wave away incest/rape/elder abuse charges, especially given how high profile this case is. That would be a massive embarrassment. Unless he totally recants the statements he made in those recordings/text messages and claims he made everything up, those serve as pretty solid evidence (a voluntary confession with no gun to his head). Couple that with whatever was discovered during Barbara's evaluation and I think they might have a pretty open/shut case. Even if she says "It was my idea and I liked it" I don't think it matters because of her mental state.

It's pretty obvious from his history that's he's unpredictable and dangerous to have walking around in meatspace. If I was at a grocery store and knew he was there, I'd be eyeballing him the whole time because he just can't help but constantly do weird harmful shit to people. Even if he somehow ends up slipping the charges, he needs to at least be indefinitely put away in some kind of SCP facility. He is a national security threat.

I'm not sure, but could this case reflect poorly on Elder Services or some similar government body? I mean, I'm sure the Chandlers were on somebody's radar. An Autistic, delusional, mentally ill man was allowed to care for his (possibly) mental ill, physically frail mother in a hoarded home, with numerous animals. I know organizations like Elder Services and DCF are overwhelmed constantly, but I can't help but feel like this shouldn't have been allowed to happen. Barb never went to the doctor with Chris and no one ever thought "This man has no business caring for himself, let alone his elderly mother?" Maybe I'm giving people too much credit or have too much faith in humanity...

Probably, but I don't know what sort of powers/authority Virginia's government has. I don't know if they had some kind of social worker visit them, but it's possible that VA just doesn't operate that way because of how intrusive it can be. The whole situation with him being a "caretaker" seems like a really odd set-up and I'm not sure if or how they flew under the radar for so many years without somebody checking in on them. I think her mental degradation was relatively recent so it's possible that they just had no reason to look at them.

Have you never watched a single episode of Forensic Files in your entire life? Even in the 1980s when Chris was still a child, forensic technology was up to snuff to allow investigators to determine whether or not they drowned naturally or if they were forced under the water.

Bob and Barb couldn't even be fucked to make Chris wear adult diapers. How the fuck could they have been expected to beat forensic technology?
There was a rise in cases of SIDS in the 80s but we still don't know for sure how many of these deaths were genuine SIDS cases and how many were deliberate acts by distressed parents. It was as simple as flipping an infant on its face and letting it suffocate.

By the 90s they had public ads and psas about "keeping baby safe, make sure baby sleeps face up!" Because people were convinced people were that stupid when it came to raising their kids.

Still it does make me wonder if Barb did consider turning Chris over some nights as she put him to bed.

Think we might get some new content tomorrow from Chris, the jail will be back up and running after the weekend slow down.

Don't know if he has any court appearances scheduled tho this week

@AnOminous sorry for tagging you and I understand that most likely it is going to end with a plea deal, but just theoretically speaking - can prosecution attempt to prove that Chris's been never a good boi and fucking his mother was never out of the realm of possibility by summoning all the women he groped in his life? Or just people who were on the receiving end of his past offences, like Snyder and that guy who he maced?
Probably not unless he takes the stand or introduces character evidence to try to argue it would be out of character for him to have committed the crime. The prosecution generally can't introduce character evidence to prove someone committed this crime because they just had a general propensity towards crime and acted in conformity with that propensity. The defense has to open the door to it by making it an issue.

There are very few exceptions, which probably don't apply, such as if a criminal had a very distinctive m.o. that it is virtually a signature. Think serial killers.

I don't think we'll have more appearances until next month (the 16th?) but we're supposed to hear about new charges some time this week. From what I understand, the grand jury's supposed to be held on monday or tuesday.

I wonder if they'll disqualify people from jury selection if they have a KiwiFarms account.

Because even at their worst Bob and Barb weren't murderous psychopaths. Bob legitimately loved his son. Barb? I'm honestly not sure.
Bob even tried to stop the troon saga when it started, but Chris never listened, as always. He was just a confused old man in a time when the world had changed and left him behind.

If I may add: Even if the possibility for this might be opened, a prosecutor might hesitate because it kinda reeks of desperation.

“This man groped a woman, therefore he raped his mother” could be perceived by jurors as a prosecutor who doesn’t have a strong case and tries to throw anything at the defendant and hopes something sticks.

The prosecution tends to like to keep things simple: “This man raped his mother” is simple.

Bringing up decades of Chris being a sexpest isn’t.

We can only hope that whoever is in there with Chris will lap up all that sweet man-milk and regurgitate it back to us somehow.
What we need is clearly an autistic millionaire willing to pay someone to stay a few weeks in jail.

Null?!

Re: the below -- PL person in my life says, the defense team are probably positioning for a plea deal by basically threatening to drag prosecution through all the mountains of "internet trolls" just to literally save court's time and money. While it's way more entertaining for us, it's better for both sides NOT to do that (unfortunately for us!) And this is the bargaining/posturing stage. Not a lawyer though, so I'll defer to the others should they wish to comment more on this.
You know, I personally think its unlikely but does anyone think that the defense might use the "relentless years of online abuse against this poor autistic wahmen" card? And actually show evidence like some of the videos Chris made in the past?

Part of me think that its retarded and the courts will never do something like that
Part of me thinks that the courts are retarded and they would totally do something like that

Cris never even made an effort what so ever to better himsef , so many more of us even those who came out of rough households worked
^ exactly that. Most autists, trannies, sociopaths, groomed by abusive parents grow up out of their circumstances and get their act together. That Chris didn't isn't genetics, or even upbringing. It's not societal. -- though obvs all those things made it harder, but don't waste your sympathy, because I guarantee you you can find ppl actively trying to get better with worse disadvantages. Someone else was saying all he ever wanted was to be a house husband. No, he didn't. House husbands have to exercise, clean, and function parallel to trophy wives. If fat Amber's only goal was to be a trophy wife, everyone would say, "ok so you want a feeder husband? Gross, but--" and then she'd interrupt that no, she wants a feeder trophy wife of her own, and also to fuck up her wife's work by literally sitting in on it. Fucking nonsense. And even SHE tried harder than Chris. He didn't want to give anyone anything. Period. Never. Even his dad, remember fraggle rock Christmas? He could have DRAWN his dad stamps and it would have been more appreciated.

That was what gave Josh that tiny rim of hope he murdered, because if without Barb stopping Chris from escaping, even if for just one week, he could make his dumb shit weens bought (keep in mind dumb weens collect literal nothingness) then Chris could do something for someone else and get somewhere doing something worthwhile for someone. Honestly, I think Chris is afraid of succeeding at this point. All he's ever done is abject failure. "But isn't that pitiful?" No. He literally chose it. Wndlessly. Repeatedly. He had countless opportunity, was shown the right way, and no amount of "but--" changes that. He chose not to.

You can help someone who wants to be saved. But you can never ever help someone who refuses it. Sometimes it's hard to tell, because they purposely prey on that. But as we saw, he is incapable of any basic humanity checks. Save your tears for those who will actually fix their fucked up situations, not those who want to drag you down lower than them. You can never be lower than them, they're just that disgusting and the more you sink, the deeper they'll go, and that's the opposite of helping.
I don't even know how to say this without it sounding fucked up, but I will try. He was arrested for incest, right? Not rape to our knowledge, at least not yet. Personally, incest (in a vacuum -- so no rape or elder abuse or anything, just the incest charge he is facing) does not sound nearly as serious as running someone down with a car or macing someone. Please don't mistake this for me condoning incest, because thats not at all what I am doing. If you told me a guy would get stuck in prison for incest but didn't get stuck in prison for macing someone or running them over, idk if I would believe you.
Again, not a lawyer, so I defer but:
1) you have state vs. federal. If FBI and etc. Are involved because, say, child porn (internet is interstate duh), or given he was robbing Barb, wire transfers + digital receipts -- it would then go to "who has the worse crime?"
2) in this case, VA state has jurisdiction first (but maybe it's just slow. It tends to be.) As others explained, jerkops can only kick him out of the house, while doing a basic wellness check on Barb -- that's how they got to the hotel (timeline wise.)
3) obvs they got more evidence since Chris didn't try to hunt Barb down (automatic restraint order violation) so bam arrested.
4) the prosecution still has time to collect evidence before the grand jury -- which was set for Sept 16th barring anything in the meanwhile (also Greene isn't super populated or crime heavy enough to warrant round the clock public defender's, cases, juries, etc.)
5) so they go with an easiest to prove charge with high (or in this case no) bail that got him arrested to begin with.

All other charges will be discussed leading up to the 16th, see also: my op about negotiating and posturing between prosecution and defense. They could literally tack on cannibalism if they find out something about Bob, or some other weird shit, or murder, or neglect. But they won't announce it until they know it won't fuck up the case. I think part of the salacious "incest" headline was even to help get more witnesses just going "oh that's NOTHING, he's my deets on worse stuff!"

This was just the prelims to establish if it could be dismissed, or set bail. It went as spectacularly Chris-chan as possible as you can see. And his previous bad behavior (mace + vehicular assault) is a mitigating factor in bail (but it was moot because Chris couldn't stfu long enough for his lawyer to even argue he totally isn't dangerous) and later on post grand jury going to pattern of behavior and character etc. But in those instances everyone felt bad for poor stupid retarded Chris and thought "maybe next time will be different! Uwu"

Still feel bad for Heilberg because now he's going to have to deal with troons sperging out wanting to "help" by inserting themselves. I wonder if he got Chris's toys (the non evidenciery ones) to settle him??? Or crayons and paper? "Here Chris show me your side of the story." Ew.

I wouldn't put it past his defense attorney to introduce elements of Christory to confuse the Judge. I just hope the prosecution uses his Facebook posts defending that guy who was banging his mom and those times he got pissed and went on about his sex dreams with Barb.

So Barb's rapist gets a sweetheart deal.

The Chris as we know him didn't form until middle and high schools. Before that he was just a quiet kid into Transformers and whatever like so many other American boys. I am sure Chris was much easier to put up with when he "had the mute button slapped on him."

What I mean, is, I don't know what lock up in America is like, but I'd imagine week days prisoners are allowed phone calls and stuff, so people will probably be trying to call him so we might get some recordings of that dropping from tomorrow onwards.

The way it works for every prison/jail in the US that I'm aware of, is inmates are only able to call out, but they can't receive calls. There's usually a wall of phones and they have to make a collect call or use money on some kind of inmate phone account.

tl;dr nobody's going to be able to call chris

Honestly I can't bring myself to hate on Bob too much. He had such high hopes for Chris, and the boy was a total letdown. He outright built Chris a studio and probably would have bought Chris a fuckload of really useful shit that could have allowed him to build lifelong marketable skills like woodworking if the simpleton had just showed some interest.
Poor bastard probably couldn't bring himself to give the little shit the discipline he needed because of Chris' fucked up brain and fear of making him even worse.

Given what we ended up getting I say he should have whipped Chris' ass daily.
he didnt need whuppins, but he did need to be told no once in a while ; what he mainly needed was early on mental health help, and for his parents to NOT pay or bribe folks to include him and befriend him, he needed exposure to healthy outlets to spark interest / discoveries , real life experiences , he needed to be actively encouraged to do more age-appropriate things. aka help him grow up and branch out from young toys and the like.
