Also glad to have been right on the poll, but that's because I figured it was a six-month contract and Becky established before she even got the job that she was going to be the worst employee she could be.

This youtube video has screenshots of what he said. Personally I don't think he should have been fired over saying this shit years ago, but with the actiblizz lawsuit shitstorm one can see how games developers might be taking no chances.

In retrospect, 3-6 months was the only correct response in the poll, she got a six month contract and companies are loathe to fire contracted employees due to the paperwork involved, it’s infinitely easier to just not resign them once the contract expires. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that this wouldn’t turn into a permanent position for Becky.

I’m generally pretty against firing people for bad tweets that were made before they joined a current company. The same goes for his DA and his shitty blog. He's almost certainly an at-will employee, so he probably can’t sue for wrongful termination (and EA probably have him some form of severance), but it’s still a stupid thing to get fired for.

So it still seems like a terrible reason to lose a job but I can’t help but sort of laugh. Like, you did this to yourself bro.

Pretty much my feeling. If the same remarks came from Brad Wardell or Colin Moriarty or some other game industry guy they've decided is the Great Satan, they'd be baying for his head on a spike. I have only so much sympathy in the tank and I reserve it for people who haven't heretofore proven themselves to be awful.

I had a scan around Twitter to see if the implications of Becky's meltdown had filtered out to Apex players, and that seems to not be the case. Randos are still @'ing him with their complaints and questions about the game, even though he's gone private and will presumably ignore them. His Twitter bio also still bills him as a lead game designer at Respawn, which is odd. Maybe Becky is the only one who got dropped, but he still has his job?

In regards to Becky, she appears to have done one of her regular flounces off Twitter from behind the privated account. Her bio now calls it a "CLOSED ACCOUNT," and she's done fairly well farming asspats from people who are so, so sad to see her go.

Daniel has a permanent job. I would guess Becky has been informed her contract won't renew, and he's been told he's on a performance improvement plan or similar. These are the plans that big companies use to manage someone out of a job, and they usually take some weeks/months to dot all the i's and cross the t's before firing. But if they put you on a plan like that, it's because they will give you zero severance and you won't always be able to get unemployment, either, since they're typically trying to show you are being fired for cause.

I thought less than three because I thought she'd be so absolutely, utterly intolerable and throw some complete freak out bitch fit. I guess instead she was just passively useless and a low-key cunt, unlike her online persona.

Yeah, I actually also voted for 0-3 because I thought she’d quit, but it appears she didn’t really do anything so why quit?

Edit: I’ve been monitoring Reddit because this shit is hilarious, if Daniel got fired then afaik it hasn’t broken there yet. I don’t think he’s fired yet, I think HR told him to gtfo Twitter.

Becky is still private, but getting a lot of @s indicating that she's announced she's leaving Twitter and for people to add her on Facebook. Will see how long that lasts.

Her most recent tweets indicated she's still employed and it's just Daniel that was fired, and she's "stuck" at Respawn because of the baby that doesn't exist. She has probably heard back from the doctor by now that the baby that doesn't exist definitely doesn't exist, and with the double whammy of that and breadwinner Daniel get shit canned, she's having a meltdown and that's why she is saying she'll leave Twitter.

Imagine being so terrible that you get shit canned before Becky. Daniel strikes me as the type of guy that's an angry incel type until he finds a woman, then straightens out and abandons those beliefs. Would explain why he was making those comments so late in life, only to do a heel turn in his late 30s.

Daniel doesn't get enough credit for being a lolcow in his own right. Imagine being such a shitty dude that Becky gets you to act halfway decent. He's still shitty, but he's better than those comments he made years ago.

I mean, this thread has always been about the three of them, but Jackson is just a shitty kinda stupid paralegal who’s relatively quiet online, and until recently Daniel had the sense to mostly shut up too. Becky always gave us the most material, but all three have tremendous potential.
