Yea I'm really just not sold on the whole Bella thing. It really doesn't sway me one way or another and the way all the information's presented is kinda suspect anyways. I don't think she's up to any good, but only one person is responsible for what Chris apparently did and that's all that's going to matter in court. It all just seems so forced.

Nigger, Chris doesn't care about right or wrong. He has no sense that anyone else exists as a thinking, feeling being besides himself and his imaginary world is proof of that.

Arguing insanity is an extremely desperate defense, it essentially frees the prosecution from having burden of proof which is extremely disadvantageous. Chris has already freely acknowledged Barb resisted in some fashion, and when friends asked him whether the allegations were true he was extremely evasive in his replies before eventually admitting admitting yes. Both prove consciousness of guilt in themselves.

I'm betting that the scenario hypothesized in the legal perspective OP is what plays out. He gets severe probation conditions as part of a plea deal which he immediately breaches because he has no self-discipline.

Everybody keeps confusing two fucking things, and its getting tiresome. Competancy to Stand Trial and an Insanity Defense are two entirely different things.

The question of competancy comes up pre trial. Is the defendant mentally capable of understanding what is going on and aiding in his defense? It isn't in any way a not guilty decision or defense. It's the dude is too retarded or crazy to stand trial. The charges get deferred pending treatment. Or a plea deal is reached where the treatment regime is part of the requirements. If treatment can stabilize the loony tune long enough to stand trial, its back on. Unless a deal has been reached.

Attempting a Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity defense is largely a fools errand. Especially because if you are attempting it it generally means the court has already ruled or determined you are sane enough and cognizant enough to stand trial.

Look at Chris's Court Appearance last week. He's gonna be evaluated for category one. He clearly had no concept of the nature or magnitude of what is going on. We laugh at the moron demanding the Judge give him his toys before he's willing to proceed. But the truth is its sad. Is he capable of understanding the nature of his Love Quest Crime? He can't be let out with the normies, but god knows what he'll stick his dick in next. The prosecutor will drop some heavy charges. But really what he is likely looking for is an agreement for indefinate confinement in a psych treatment facility. Everything about this situation is a fucking horror show.
