At around 16:00 minutes he talks again about how he wanted his pride speech to be “different,” because everyone else’s was about complaining. So I guess even though, as he noted in the speech, it was his “in fact [his] very first Pride,” he wants to indicate that he knows better. He made a few “humble” statements in the speech, but clearly he views himself as an authority.

And then he said that while he was there he was being “mobbed,” and had to “put on a big hat and sunglasses and run” to avoid the melee caused by the trans princess of Terf Island being amongst the peasants. It’s hilarious that he sees himself as Elvis Presley, but given the insanity of that crowd maybe they really were acting like that towards him.

Hmmmm this response makes me even more convinced that this is all grift. I'd likely be considered mega-liberal by this site's standards. I'm basically the target audience for the Breadtube cabal. However PTs entire onscreen presence really sets off my revulsion response. Everything I see makes me more and more aware of what a flimsy facade PT puts on everything. It's all so fake just for the acclaim / infamy.

I've been to multiple Prides in different places and they're pretty open to all. Nobody is checking your credentials at the gate. I find it incredibly hard to believe anyone with a supposedly large, liberal, LGBT-accepting group of friends, even a straight-acting cis "Chad" as PT used to be, would have never attended a Pride even in passing. They're basically just pissups in parks with music, with some artsy stalls and some charities set up for donations and handing leaflets. You'd think anyone struggling with their sexual or gender identity would have at least skimmed through one, with the easy denial of "oh my friends wanted to go" if you don't want to admit you're queer. Or had your queer friends drag you along as a cheap way to spend a Saturday afternoon

So you have never attended a single pride, and yet within 6 months of your trans coming out you're now an invited speaker at London Pride? That's pretty decent, obviously it got more eyes on PT than anyone would get just on YouTube clicks. A whole audience of people in person hanging off your every word? Narcissistic fuel to the max.

It's petty but if I was a trans person I'd be really pissed off. PT went from literally a bearded dude who's quoted to have never faced dysphoria to suddenly claiming to be the face of trans women in the UK within 6 months. So many trans people are just quietly living their lives and don't want to be clocked as transgender and then you have twats like this making it their entire life for the fame. And it fucking works?! BBC interviews and acting roles!

Two things:
In that speech Tube says it was the very first Pride they went to. . .but haven't they been to one before?

I remember reading a tweet where Tube said that they were wearing high heels all day that day, and something about how it was hard to walk in them but Tube needed to be authentic or something? If someone can find/link that TY. Now considering Tube was "running away from the Tube-arazzi" in high heels in disguise makes it even funnier to imagine.

Seems a bit sexist to assume Trans Women have to wear heels or thigh high boots all the time. They can be just fine wearing sneakers and flats.
Normal clothing? Nope, that won't do - a dress that's too short and cocktail waitress high heels it is, for the cobbled stone streets of Ole' London Town to deliver the Tubeheart Speech. Tubey needs to get a new stylist.

As someone who used to be there, PT was the most dreadful to watch. He just lacks the charism, wits, and the "it factor" to be interesting. I get why most people watch the other big breadtubers, but I seriously think that all that PT has on his side is that he is consistent. He actually delivers content where Contra, Hbomber, Shaun just doesn't.

Today I was reminded of contra talking about how he was going on pro-ana websites for 'research' a few months ago. More below from the contra thread:

He says that as part of the research for the current video he spent a day looking at pro-Ana websites and that he feels like pro ana people are just an ad absurdism version of regular “diet culture” people. He says ever since he looked at the sites he’s had a hard time thinking of anything else or that it’s really hard not to slide into disordered eating.

Oliver's new video seems to be on the same topic. Could it be possible that Oliver wanted to get out a video on this topic first? Could this be another example of Oliver copying ideas from Nyk? We all know Oliver loves to copy from him.

I, for one, think there is a connection here.

You've got a good point. He and Big Joel are like the only breadtubers who aren't basically grifting their patreon supporters. It's also interesting how despite the set design and costuming being just as self indulgent and pretentious as Contra videos he manages to make more than three a year.
