Manchester High School is not the kind of place where this is supposed to happen. It's hardly the best school in the greater Richmond area but they produce a lot of DI and pro athletes, probably dozens of people a year who go to elite colleges, etc. Even the vocational kids generally don't end up in prison, it serves a perfectly nice upper middle class area. I don't know what it's like to teach at some shithole warehousing school in a bad urban district where your students being involved in horrible crime is normal but I'm sure whoever taught Chris would be extremely disturbed by how he turned out.

yeah i know, thats why I'm even more curious, genuinely so, to hear the perspectives and reactions of these teachers and coaches he had in grade school, high school and at the community college, you know, did they see this stuff all coming, or did they think hed wake up , grow up, straighten himself out ? have they seen any of his many cringe-inducing online videos through the years, i wonder if anyone out there in those areas can meet and interview these people and get their takes and feedback on everything . . .

It’s best this came out when it did. This is objectively untrue, while it may not happen as easily or as often as films depict, prison rape does happen, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, around 80,000 women and men a year get sexually abused in American correctional facilities. So no it isnt just a meme or an excuse to say racist things, if you wanna say things against Americans thats fine, just be sure what youre saying is true.

Well... 80.000 rapes/sexual assaults out of a prison population of what... More than a million? Isn’t a whole lot.

Even if we assume that half of the rapes go unreported and double that 80.000, it’s still only 1% of the population.

Every rape is one too many of course, but there seems to be a disconnect between how often it happens and how often prison rape gets mentioned. (sometimes in an almost sadistical way)

Your conclusion is wrong though; one can clearly see how Chris was, to some extent, reeled-in by the presence of Bob. When it was just Barb and Chris took his father’s place as “man of the house” was when it all got dialed up to eleven on the crazy scale. Plus, add on all the bad habits he picked up from them such as the paranoia (Borb reinforced Chris’ belief in there being a grand conspiracy against him) and the hoarding. There are many factors at play in autism, including some we don’t know of yet.

The dimensional merge stuff started pretty late for typical psychotic disorders like schizophrenia, which usually starts in late teens/early 20s for males. Chris was gullible and easily manipulated into stuff like believing Miyamoto was interested in Sonichu back then, but that’s more of an autism not understanding when people are fucking with you thing.

thinking it’s okay to get with your elderly mom though, I’ve never heard of even the worst schizos getting into that. I assume there’s some sort of personality disorder involved but idk what. Hearing a psychiatrist’s report in court eventually will be interesting.

It’s almost a bummer that Chris didn’t go for more drawings of an editorial/satirical nature, since it reminds me of the editorial “cartoons” in The Onion.

Then again, Chris is hardly well oriented, and any political or societal opinion he has, is stuff he parrots of the news/twitter.

I tend to think he isn't delusional. I think he uses all the crazy talk as a tool for avoiding talking about things he doesn't want to talk about. Yeah low functioning autistic people can literally not perform proper sentences, can't do most things on their own and need to be handheld with a tard wrangler in every step of their life. Chris neither has schizophrenia nor delusional disorder.

He’s never been diagnosed with anything but autism.

And if you’d ever seen someone actually suffering from schizophrenia or having some kind of psychotic break, you’d notice the clear differences between that and Chris Merge babble.

Schizophrenia is usually terrifying for one thing, and the person has little control over his delusions.

Chris’s “delusions” otoh are always supportive and convenient. They never tell him to get a job or frighten him.

Which of course is because they come not from mental illness, but from Chris’s (rather limited) imagination.

There’s also little of the disordered thinking you see with actually seriously mentally ill people.
