"Current year" terms that piss you off

Is that a thing? It's always been bogof in the UK (Buy One, Get One Free) which apart from being an amusing acronym makes much more sense.
I think it comes down to some modern Bogos not actually having the second product be free, but instead at a (usually generous) discounted price. Adding the “F” would be false advertising in that case.

I reached a point where whenever someone brings up "muh Dunning-Kruger effect" I just tuned out. It's now oversimplified to the point that it just means "lol you are the one who is dumb" which is very ironic.

Sounds like college.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Shut the fuck up.
I have a friend who says "lets unpack this/there's a lot to unpack" when refering to basic bitch media analysis (he's a big film nut). It always sends me into autistic fits of rage internally because I've come to expect "unpacking" to mean a social justice sermon from tumblr

oh God I hate that one too. It's such a pretentious, douchey expression.

I've always hated the term "game changer", especially when reddit tier plebs try some new fastfood item and are like OMG bronerinos this is a total game changer.
Using this term for anything outside the context of sports makes it sound as if the person has lived a sheltered life when something as simple as a new fast food item is a "game changer" in their mind.

This always sounds pretentious and condescending to me. Yes, there are everyday heroes. However, this comes across as building someone up at the expense of tearing down others.

Verbing words with "-ize" in identity politics is annoying.

Like "sexualize", "normalize", etc.
I'll contribute "fetishize" to this list. I've seen people that claim to be "sex workers" (another piss off worthy current year term) bouncing and squeaking about people sexualizing or fetishing their lewd photos. If they're going to post them for people to see, they can't control people's reaction to them, especially if they're actively using their sexuality to captivate their audience or get them to become beta-cucks that pay for additional lewd content.

I'm pretty sure someone else may have said it, but "Fact check" is pissing me off currently. It seems as if any newspaper article discussing COVID now has a passage at the end claiming someone has fact checked the article. To me, it comes across as a rudimentary form of editing that borderlines on outright censorship.

I think the woke cult should just be honest and say they want to demonize healthy sexuality.

It's as if they think straight men are meant to be asexual drones.

As for "fact check", I guess the woke cult means The Narrative when they say stuff like "facts" or "truth". And anyone or anything against The Narrative ("wrongthink") is called a buzzword they want to use at the moment - like "alt-right", "bigot", "conspiracy theory", etc.

It really is draining to deal with their endless attempts at manipulating into submitting.

It gets worse: some SJ types are now trying to popularize the term "people of global majority" to describe nonwhites. They are actively asserting that whites are a global minority, and that makes it fine to suppress them, even in their own homelands.
And here I thought minorities where to be protected...

On topic: I hate the word "toxic" used to describe anyone community without strict censorship or any person who isn't a complete push over.

Biohacking"

Silicon Valley, 'nuff said.
Using “hack” for things other than programming has annoyed me for years, probably a decade or more.

Along those lines, “blank porn” is a retarded description of whatever the category may be. Examples; “word porn, food porn, shoe porn, murder porn (usually a reference to a mystery/ homicide show, they never mean snuff or blue-tape shit,) earth porn, & any other nouns that aren’t an actual pornography category. If it’s not porn, calling it porn is stale & has been since this trend began.

When someone calls their bitchy, faggy, cunty, post (on social media) a PSA. No, you simply want to bitch or sound sophisticated, but posting your tard-takes & claiming they’re public services is the height of passive aggression, navel-gazing, & ignorant public, self-humiliation.

Porn as a suffix for collections of non-sexual stimuli is obnoxiously inapt. It just brings up the idea of mindlessly consooming pure stimuli while blue ballsing yourself simultaneously.
