I assume this is a game industry figure of some sort (who else would be inescapable at cons?), but has he burned bridges with any more of them since Big Bad Con?

It could be an acquaintance or someone(that he only knows that screen name of) that frequents(or might attend) GenCon or BBC. He's got that autistic focus on what he likes and I don't think he would travel to DragonCon or any other place. He's stuck in his ways.

The forum could be RPGspergwhatever that he wrote reviews for. He was delighted that all these nerds didn't know if he was a man or a woman and got some horny nerd attention from that. 2014(Gamergate) could be any year really.

The way he keeps finding every reason under the sun except ones that put responsibility on him? That’s why no one wants to be friends. It sums up everything that’s wrong with Jake.

Quite apart from the usual neediness, helplessness, lying, possible delusion and endless, endless misery, two points stand out. Firstly, that this is a man who will do nothing to help himself, because he will not accept that any problems are down to him or within his control.

And secondly, if you are his friend, he will absolutely throw you under the bus. The day you don’t rush to his side when he wails that he’s... not okay, the times when you’re busy, any occasion when you have the temerity to live your own life, you will be the subject of a passive aggressive Googleshng. You’ll be portrayed as a monster and you won’t get to tell your side of the story. And no doubt if you confront him about it, the vagueposting coward will claim he was actually talking about someone else and then block you.

I wish there were more to it than that. I mean, there have been friends I have made since coming out as trans, and there is a strong case to be made that a hell of a lot of those friends I no longer have because I made the mistake of trying to befriend someone who turned out to be a horrific abusive narcissist, and I ignored what was honestly a pretty clear trail of red flags and people this person had used and discarded until oh hey, sure enough, I was used and discarded by way of being made the scapegoat for something-or-other. But, I dunno, I think pointing to me as the one behind something I was so far removed from that years later, having actively tried to look into this quite a lot, I STILL don't actually know what it is that I took the fall for, or in the place of who. That's the weird thing though, almost all of Jake's Patreon numbers were gained after Jake burned his bridges with Chelsea. He managed to get nothing at all from his association with CON.

I’m surprised by the few people that do put up with him. Becky and Nora don’t really count because they never interact with him outside of Twitter. Jessica used to get him minor jobs at Paizo but I’m not sure how much outside Twitter contact they had. SFtheWolf is the only one who continues to do streams and stuff with Jake and I can’t understand why. Jake treats them terribly. I think it's the latter to a large extent. Remember those streams where Jake would be sperging out on Final Fantasy and PHH would be noodling on the guitar or playing Street Fighter in the picture-in-picture with someone else? Mutual loneliness and the Geek Social Fallacies are certainly in play as well, but I think there is a strong element of pity.
