Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

It's funny how anti-vaxx they are despite the fact that their Daddy constantly boasted about how he ""helped" to create vaccine and about how he'll use the military to distribute them.

Trump has never screwed up as bad as Biden did in his handling of Afghanistan
did you forget about your cult leader's handling of covid?

Trump also was responsible for releasing 5000 Taliban soldiers from Afghan prison and Taliban's president. I'd say that is fucking up just as badly

I may as well bite, as I am curious. How do you think Trump could have done any better? From my perspective, Afghanistan is a poisoned chalice for all western leaders who inherited the occupation. Sort of this festering band-aid which inevitably had to come off, but was going to be extremely painful politically.

And as evidenced by the remarkable collapse of the ANA, I don't think any other candidate could have changed things. It's been 20 years of propping up the Islamic Republic, and if they weren't ready now, then they were never going to be ready. Especially considering Trump got in on a mandate of withdrawing from the forever wars. No matter which party is in office, I think the facts on the ground would remain the same. There would still be this panic in Kabul. You'd still see desperate refugees clinging to any aircraft flying out. And there would still be a lack of willingness in the ANA to fight.

The seeds for the chaos in withdrawing from Afghanistan were sewn a long time ago by the mismanagement of policy by the Obama and Dubya administrations. And even if Trump had withdrawn within his term, and this sort of chaos erupted, I could not blame him.

I mean we all knew what the Taliban were gonna do so, winning Afghanistan was off the table. It’s just ridiculous how fast it happened. When Taliban themselves tell you that you could have handled the situation better then there is a problem.

My main gripe is all those American weapons should not have been left behind.

did you forget that people are still getting sick even with both shots?
Also, releasing 5,000 soldiers is not as bad as losing Afghanistan in two weeks and making America the laughing stock of the world.

C’mon man, give Joe a chance, he’s been president for the whole 10 minutes! I like his major proposals and overall he seems like a nice and down to earth kind of guy, none of the tardness Trump or Dubya exhumed, nor much of the holier-than-thou attitude Obama exhibited.
He’s also admitting he’s made mistakes here and was working with faulty intelligence consensus’s. Guy is probably the US President dropped into the worst possible first year. Major pandemic, economic worries, and a ticking foreign policy time bomb.

EDIT: Worst in the last 50 years or so. FDR had the Great Depression, and Lincoln was going to have to deal with the south trying to leave the nation. You could also make an argument for Tyler, but that was more a political big question mark about the VP position becoming the President.

Yeah cause I'm sure America was never the laughingstock of the world before this, and also I'm sure releasing those soldiers who are causing issues in Afghanistan clearly does not contribute to that problem whatsoever.

Trump was actually really smart to not withdraw from Afghanistan during his term so he could dodge this mess.
I've seen a lot of people assuming that a Trump comeback in 2024 is now nailed-on thanks to the whole Afghanistan mess. And while it's certainly looking like more of a possibility than it was a few weeks ago, you do have to wonder what he'd realistically achieve with a second term considering that he'd only have four years before he became term-limited, probably only have full control of Congress for half of that time, and he'd also have to spend time unpicking whatever Biden accomplishes during his presidency.

Really, Trump's best bet would be to spend the next three years helping to set up Ivanka or DeSantis for a run against Biden (or Harris), but I think his ego's too big to allow for that.

DeSantis is done for thanks to his anti vax rhetoric. Thousands dropping like flies and his voter base is dying . No chance.

Even though Based Japan™ uses them all the time whenever they're sick, before COVID came along. (I'll never not point that out.)
My korean roommate gave me a bunch of n95s when covid originally hit the fan and when I asked her how she got them because they were impossible to find for sale, she was like "I just had a big pack of them stashed in my closet for the past few years in case I would need them"

MERS was a big deal in Korea 6 years ago so it makes sense i guess

You assume people will remember Afghanistan in 2024. The press may be wanting an Iranian hostage type situation but that doesn't actually seem to be happening on the ground.

Oh, people will remember Afghanistan in three years time. The GOP will make sure of it, by constantly running ads containing footage of the scenes at Kabul airport. Though really, all that'll do is cancel out the inevitable Democrat ads containing footage of the storming of the Capitol.

Though it's correct that we don't really know how damaging this will be to Biden; people have been comparing it to the Fall of Saigon, which didn't do Gerald Ford many favors in the short term, but by the time the next election rolled around people had mostly shrugged it off as just the culmination of a shitstorm that both parties were culpable for. If nothing else, it was pretty small potatoes next to the Nixon pardon and Ford forgetting what the USSR was during the middle of his debate with Carter.

Not nearly as often, though. Nothing in life is 100%. I know you autists only understand extremes and you cannot understand anything between 0 and 100%, but there's a world of difference between 0 and 70% effective.

Yeah, I am sure releasing 5,000 Taliban soldiers and the Taliban's fucking president had nothing to do with this

Out of all his children, I think Ivanka is the worst equipped to campaign and that’s including Barron.

If anyone named Trump should run, it should be Don Jr, while semi-retarded, he seems like a better orator and actually has a connection to Trump base.

Well what else were they going to with them? Kill them all? Wasn’t that the Afghan government’s call anyway?

you’re parroting what the other guy said. You’re sounding like that Alzheimer’s patient you call your president. The one who sat their shitting his pants while said 5000 soldiers ran roughshod over Afghanistan in 2 weeks.

Then Biden said the buck stops with him while proceeding to blame everyone else for the disaster in Afghanistan but himself. He left a shit ton of weapons for the Taliban to use. He didn’t have an orderly evacuation plan to get the people out who helped America out by interpreting and fighting for them during the war.

Everyone and their brother could see that the Taliban takeover was predictable from a mile away and Biden pushed the withdrawal deadline from May to August and still fucked it up.

But wait, even the liberal media turned on Biden too.

I could post more but, I got shit to do today. Face it, the retard you voted for makes Trump look like a super genius and his stupidity is going down for the record books.

I hope Trump has no hand in anything 2024 so a republican has a better chance. A lot of people didn't vote for Biden, they voted against Trump. Now Biden has fucked over Afghanistan and, predictably, imposed a 12 month ban on cheap ammo. I don't intend to vote in 22 or 24 and just let the pieces fall where they will.

Gun shit is pretty much where I draw my line.

Cheap shit ammo is just going to come from Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, etc. Most of our steel case that isn’t Tula or Wolf (both of which are imported mostly from Russia) is Ukrainian or Romanian. If you fell for the AK-74 and 5.45x39 meme I do feel bad for you, but get into hand loading brass. It’s a niche cartridge here in the states.

This is exactly why I don't want a 74. Lol I do want a 47 tho. 74 was cheap before the ban of surplus shit
