Seriously, the Morgenthau Plan leak, alongside the "we will only accept unconditional surrender" statement (which FDR declared without talking with his other allies first, ticking off the USSR in particular) were probably the single biggest reasons more generals didn't support overthrowing Hitler, and Black Orchestra (the anti-Nazi resistance) didn't gain more traction. The Allies did absolutely nothing to support the anti-Nazi resistance and offer Germany a way out, but the resistance still attempted the coup anyway, God bless them.
probably because the Germans realized that one side were rape hungry mongoloid chimps and the other side wasn’t

Is anyone else sick of WW2? Honestly this constant obsession over this war makes me think that the Nazis have mentally won since they live rent free in every American and Westerner's Head.
It's one of the most consequential wars in human history, people aren't obsessed with it just because the Nazis were poo poo heads.

It’s insanely well documented too, so that gives autists like us piles of material to look through.
There are days where I do feel like about ww2 and there are days where I don't. It becomes easier to go through the fatigue of hearing it again and again if you focus on the 20th century as a whole. Here's the real question will our memory of World War II fade like it did with the 30 years war or the napoleonic wars or the fall of the Ming dynasty (I'm not saying these events have been forgotten but If you travel back in time to a couple of decades after they had happen they were seen as one of the biggest events in human history) or has our technology and constant bringing it up has given World War II sort of an immortal life? Will people 700 years in the future give a shit about Hitler, Stalin, d-day, operation Barbarossa or pearl harbor?

I would actually argue that World War I was far more consequential to human history and that everything that followed after (WWII, the Cold War, the collapse of Imperialism, rise of Neoliberal internationalism as signaled by the creation of the U.N. IMF and World Bank) is a direct result of that war and how it ended.

Everything fades with time. Assuming human civilization doesn't collapse in the future or an even larger WWIII doesn't take its place, people will eventually lose interest in it, just like with every other war. Remember, WWII is still (barely) within living memory. People who live through it or fought in it are still with us, though that is becoming less and less the case every year. And there are still people alive who grew up in the immediate aftermath. Its effect on society will fade but only when everyone even remotely tied to the event is long gone.

Lmao, Althistoryhub deleted his ice cold take on demographic replacement being fine because a Catholic theocracy will totally spring up from it
He should do an althist on what he envisions this Catholic theocracy would be.

It is one of the most consequential events in (albeit fading) living memory and touched pretty much every continent. It also founds part of a modern creation myth in which freedom and democracy triumphed over tyranny and and dictatorships. In 70 years time we will likely see the same attitude towards 9/11 and the War on Terror.

Its the foundation for everything from Breton-Woods to the UN and our views regarding nationalism and how to be a man.

AlthistHub really shows the biggest issue with alt history , it needs alot of world building , look at 99% of successful alt history shows and they change 1 thing about our history
"what if hitler won"
"what if 9/11 didnt happen"
"what if the south won the civil war"
Its always something everyone knows the consequences of and the history , hell even my favorite show of recent , For all mankind , simply changes one thing about our history. And honestly i fully blame Alt history hub for most of this in recent years, i doubt alt history would be as popular if it werent for him.

I don't blame Cody and I don't this single point of divergence alternate histories is necessarily a bad thing. Alternate history came for the For want of a nail proverb. Though I do want to see more unusual and unique ones.

One last thing has anyone seen a video by Dan Davis Author? If so what do you think about him?

I think people are getting weary of the same old stories in the same presentation.
Call of Duty just revealed a new WW2 title and it's the same thing you've seen hundreds of times.
They even made it a alt history story to justify a world with modern sensibilities where you would find black british paratroopers.
Also lol, look at that shitty sten gun

The whole democracy experiment was ridiculous from the beginning. A more realistic approach would be to gather the tribal leaders and have them come to agreement towards a international representative. The push towards women in leadership positions was also very unpopular, would have been better to simply accept that Afghanistan had a different culture and instead let foreign influence try to soften the culture by generations rather than immediate globohomo

I think you missed the point, a middling history youtube unleashed an unhinged 14 point manifesto on the state of Afghanistan.

it's fucking bizarre
