I would disagree - Islam is schismatic by design. It was founded on disagreement with who the true heirs of the caliphate are, and continued to divide from there. That's why they're such effective terrorists, they're already used to dividing into cells who only know as much as they need to in order to justify their purpose. I do not believe any one Muslim can hold enough power to become a proper Hitler, because there will always be ten other Muslims with -almost- as much power as that one, and they believe their specific Islam is the correct Islam.

Now, the best way to make a new Hitler is with something not nearly as capricious as religious thought and belief, something more dogmatic than religion. Socialism/Communism? Why, there's never been a deeper well to draw from. At the time of the Lewinsky affair I had no other sources of news and had the impression that the case was solely about a consensual affair and took the view that whatever it may say about Bill's character, it wasn't really a commentary on his qualities as president and not a court matter. It's only looking back as an adult that I find it was actually about a sexual assault case and Lewinksy was a witness. It wasn't about him sleeping with her but about him lying about the nature of his relationship to a witness. That changed my view on things a lot and it's frightening how many people still have the view on the case that I did at the time.

Oh, totally. For me at least, a woman's character is the make-or-break point for me to find them attractive. As "professional-looking" and "friendly-grandmother-esque" Hillary may make herself out to be in public, the fact that she is behind so many shady and controversial political and social developments would be far too significant for me to simply ignore it. In simpler terms, a chubby woman with a complex, compelling, and approachable character is made that much more beautiful by the way they act. Conversely, a woman with the physique of a professional-model, but is as approachable as a barracuda in a Waffen-SS uniform, is ugly to me.

What has really been bugging me is the rumours that the G7 meeting only took 12 minutes.

That is a really short time for a meeting of 7 leaders, unless there is nothing to talk about and there is already consensus on everything. I find it unlikely that there was nothing to talk about since at least 5 of the countries are openly worried about having citizens left behind enemy lines.

This can surely not help diplomatic relations between US and the other G7 members.

Politico had an article where the G7 found out that everything they were to debate had in fact already been decided. The only thing left was to ask Biden to ask the Taliban for more time.

Because most of them use it and it is such a reliable echo chamber they get high on their own farts. No, seriously. That is legit the reason. I have peers working for them that have been trying for years now to get them to stop doing it to no avail.


To explain one of the knock-on effects of importance for keeping this clusterfuck going: Whenever a large group of the general populace sit up and take notice, a section of them will never sit back down. Its newly minted ideological partisans, always in opposition to the group that caused them to take notice. They become lotus points of information, spreading out from them and far more able to start the rippling word-of-mouth. This wakes up more people, and it just becomes a perpetuating cycle both keeping the issue going and making more hardened opposition to whatever got the populace's attention.
