Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I think it might've been the plan at one point early on but once Biden and Kamala were actually in and the rubber began to hit the road as it were, that plan was quickly discarded.

Kamala strikes me as a sort of chameleon, so to speak. She is firmly on the side of the corporate elites but made herself out to be more reliable than she actually was and was really just a paper tiger who's a lot better off in her old Senate position than her current position where she's in over her head and everyone important can see that.

When Biden said the quiet part out loud and the DNC had to pick a black woman as his VP, Kamala was the only one who met all the surface-level criteria for the bigwigs aside from maybe Susan Rice.

I wasn't expecting to get an answer about whether the aircraft shooting was a pattern or not this soon. A coordinated bombing with a group opening fire at the gate means its either Taliban coordinated, or individual fighters in larger numbers getting tired of waiting.
