Sine Kamala is doing whatever she can to avoid this with a 8000 mile pole? Pretty fucking bad. Him dying would throw the already completely fractured admin into an even bigger mess. Kamala would play hot potato with any responsibility, of course, even more than Joe is doing. There wouldn't be anything resembling a chain of command left, and nothing would get done. You'd basically see a complete lack of any effective administration or leadership for months, barring some general convincing Kamala to let him take the reigns while she sits back and looks pretty. Well, tries to look pretty, anyway.

Well, for one, we would have left on time and the fall of the Afghanistanian government would have been someone else's problem. And Trump would have negotiated a deal with the Taliban to get them to rename themselves so he could claim it wasn't a Taliban uprising, but rather some other, new group that was "strongly voicing their opinions about the corruption the Democrats brought to the innocent victims of Afghanistan." Or somesuch.
