"Take the L" is such a huge fucking problem for this entire culture right now. It's not that hard to admit you're wrong or that you fucked up. It's even ok to say "I take responsibility" and then take action to show you're responsible, like resigning or having a very frank gathering where you tell concerned parties how and why you fucked up, and make commitments to doing better with an actual roadmap to get there.
There's no honesty whatsoever and no culpability when things go wrong. I see this in a lot of industries, too, via work stuff...this isn't isolated to just one sector. The entire business and government world is one big "we came up short of projections for the 6th quarter running, but that's to be expected and let's set new goals for next year."

IMO this is a dumb take from disclose, ISIS bombing your country =/= you are harboring ISIS (in the sense of Pakistan harboring Bin Laden), supposedly some Taliban guards also got hit by the bombs.
My impression through this whole deal is that the Taliban want to be legitimate after this and run their theocracy, protected against the US by their rare metals and their place in China's future chip industry.
Meanwhile ISIS could be fucking with them (and potentially China) indefinitely if they're the low hanging fruit to take territory from.
I'm just speculating like everyone else but otherwise it makes no sense for the Taliban to be as restrained and diplomatic as they've been recently.

I think none of them know what the fuck to do. Which is terrifying. Even if Joe's a potato, Kamala should in theory be able to take the reigns (although it sounds like Jill Biden is being a karen about shit?), and there should be Generals that could step in and provide some form of support or military plan. The fact that they aren't suggests it's even more fucked than we know behind the scenes.
