My wife and I were trying to think of a worse disaster militarily since the Tet Offensive (which the NVA still got their shit pushed in but then the press ran their mouths and lost the war) and we've come up with one.
The Beirut Barracks Bombing. The local commander wanted blockades for the entry because intel said there was some shit coming. The CIA told the State Department that nothing was happening, the State Department refused, and a bunch of jar heads got ganked.
BUT, people took responsibility, rules and doctrine changed, heads rolled.
We thought about Somalia, but when that went down, everything went live and guys were chomping on the bit to go in and fuck shit up. Clinton pulled us out because he felt there wasn't anything there worth one more American life, and only 9 were killed.
This is unprecedented.
The Commanding Generals are all desk polishing lifer scum that I wouldn't trust to run an orgy in a women's prison with a fist full of pardons.
The VP is a cackling witch who may or may not have Tourettes.
The President is busy shitting himself while his wife handles his calls.
The House is busy celebrating women's day or some shit.
We've got dead on the ground, we're welding the gates shut, and all they can do is PR spin.

I have always feared Obama had him killed after that incident, either Clinton-style killed in an "accident" or "random mugging" ala Seth Rich or had him removed from Sentry duty days after making him break protocol and hold the umbrella over Obama's head and reassigned to the most deadly part of Afghanistan or Iraq with his superiors being explicitly instructed to send him on nothing suicide mission that would 100% result in his death, until one of said missions got him killed.

As a civilian scrub with extended family and family-friends who were, and are, wounded veterans (many of whom are as fervently patriotic as I am, and are diametrically opposed to all the things that have allowed this nonsense to happen), I am reaching levels of anger unseen since I finally abandoned social media.

Don't worry, if American children have to do 4 years of mandatory service it will be all about learning about privilege, diversity, and equity. With a good national service program run by our already-captured government agencies, there's no longer a need to go to a liberal arts college to get the same level of indoctrination in proper woke thought.
