The Nazi hat is so amazing. DSP can't get rid of it because if he does trolls win, which he hates. But it's a double whammy where he'll also have to admit he was a fucking moron that didn't realize he looked like an SS member.

He's also blaming viewership on the game again, despite the fact that viewership has been down for non-DLCs. I wonder how long until he has to admit viewership is down no matter what

Ah, the dilemma of being Phil!
Stopping sucking at everything means putting in an effort, engaging with the audience, doing things normal streamers do and maybe even finding a niche instead of just choosing some random games (NEW RELEASES!) and putting them on your schedule.

That sounds like a lot work, ok dood?

Being “The guy” means giving up on what remains of his ego, and not just do something you hate for a living, but do something you hate with a passion for living.

Hard choices! It’s almost as if there’s ultimately a price to pay for getting used to massive amounts of free money, and playing life at the lowest difficulty level for a decade!

It’s also the sunk cost fallacy, that’s part of the addiction. A new game doesn’t have that.
Phil has spent tens of thousands to being where he is in Champions. In his goutbrain (and with many other gacha players) that translates to: “Dood! If I quit or don’t spend enough to stay at this level, the money is LOST!”

I might be getting my lore wrong, and someone please correct me if I am, but I thought the incident predated him streaming on Twitch. Even if it was on Twitch, I don't know if Phil ever became internet famous because of it. I mean, it was a pretty notorious incident, sure, but I feel like your average internet user, especially today, wouldn't be able to name who that dude was off the top of their head, just that it was an incident that happened. It was funny and absolutely embarrassing for Phil, sure, but it's just a blip in general internet history.

It's a big part of Phil's problem. Unlike some of the other "controversial" content creators, they manage to spin the controversy in a way that lets them grow supporters. Love or hate them, people watch to see what will happen next. With Phil, most of his content is just boring, dead air. We get some great moments like his prestream rant today, but those moments are too few and far between for most people to continually watch and follow Phil. He's got his dedicated cult following, sure, but otherwise he's a literal who/that guy is still around?

He's the puppetmaster though. All it costs him is $15,000 and all his spare time. But he is a master troll and it's all worth it. Cheers to OIC in his 1 bedroom apartment; owning everyone.

Also, he says this right after noting that he is going to dispute the chargebacks, so it may not actually even be an issue (the veracity of the chargebacks also being in doubt).

  • 16GB RAM
  • Nvidia GTX-460
  • Asus Sabertooth_X58 MoBo

The only thing Phil needs is a new graphics card, that he will still never use, and a software update.

You know, somehow I doubt that Phil understands much about PCs beyond: “Newer=better”.

Also: Keep in mind that the last time Phil was anywhere near the “PC-scene”, you got a 50%-100% faster CPU and GPU every year for the same price as last year.

You could try to explain that his X year PC is reasonably fast today and could run any game with a newer GPU, but you’d get a lean in ban and a “Nice try, how dumb do you think I am, fahking idiot! ACK! ACK! ACK!”

Hopefully a kind soul on Twitter can remind Phil that he doesn’t need to worry and can rest easy tonight... After all, he explained a while back that he wins ALL chargebacks!

While Phil fights those evil chargebacks and readies up another weekend begathon that will no doubt fail to hit his goal, his old rival Justin Wong is being recognized for his achievements in fighting games, a path Phil dropped when he refused to accept that he's not actually good at games.

Do you think this will get the usual clout-chasing reply?
