Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

theyre literally Islamic Goat Herders. One week theyre fighting for the Taliban...The next theyre fighting for ISIS.

Its called the Al Qaeda Kani (SP?) terrorist network. To say you trust Taliban is basically saying you trust ISIS/Al Qaeda.

My main hope is that they announce an early end to the pandemic as a last ditch move to keep public opinion from turning against them and/or to scrounge up some political capital.

I don't think much of Sam Harris, but the man has been opposed to the rise of Islam since 9/11. Now, Islam gained a new brutal country completely opposed to all of his values.

Dem State governors and legislators can't do that. It's the only thing they have to a unified mandate and that's what gives them the ability to rule by fiat. Mail-in elections, near-mandatory vaccinations of all workers, and mask mandates all go away if they declare the pandemic over. Even then, they can never really declare it over in the same way that Governors Newsom and Brown both had to declare the drought over when it never ended to begin with. Nature really does not care about government edicts, but they have to pretend it does to maintain their ill-gotten power.

Ironically for people who managed to beat back the Soviets, the Afghan boots sandals on the ground are basically the equivalent of a levy army (or old-school Red Army conscripts). They do what they're told but they require constant supervision, and without someone barking out orders they either disperse or start looting. Their leadership may even know what they're doing, but there can be a big gap between an order being given and said order being carried out.
