The only sympathy I have is for us, if for some reason she blinks out of existence, robbing us of the shitshow. If she vanished, I'd have to move over to Chantal, and that would be a nightmare.
I'd say it is the ONLY job she could get that pays well for such little effort. She sits on her ass for two hours a week, denying things her audience already knows, preening and playing with her hair as if instead of being surrounded by haydurs, she's surrounded by a veritable coterie of admirers, hanging on her every word.
Can't take a first step f you can't haul your ass off the couch/mattress. Even if she did that, she'd have some mishap - like a charley horse - and decide it meant the end to whatever physical thing it was she was doing.
But she isn't, not really - not by herself, anyway. I can picture a world where she has no caretaker and she winds up dead, glued to the couch thanks to leaking fluids and raging skin infections, not found until the stench started getting outside her carefully crafted bubble.
I agree with you totally on the first point. Amber is awful but Chantal is on another level. Chantal is totally rotten to the core and the intent behind the way she does things seems malicious to me. Amber is awful, but in different ways and she definitely does a lot of it just because she’s an idiot.
She could really lower her standards and cater 100% to feeders but I don’t know if she’d make Youtube levels of money to do that. She has some options, but YouTube is only one that can keep her in the tax bracket she’s in right now. Then again, she does have a leg up on your average OF creator because she’s a known YouTuber so maybe she could build a decent clientele off of that. She would have to work a little harder than she does now though so that kinda defeats the “low effort for decent money” aspect we’re talking about.
We’ve seen people on MSHPL start with simply cutting back on calories and doing low impact arm and leg exercises from their bed. There’s also always the option of remotely talking to a nutritionist/therapist/dietician, at least in the beginning stages of attempting to make a change. She has plenty of ways to get started without lifting more than a finger or arm. That’s what makes it so mind boggling that she won’t do anything. Those are the most low effort first steps of all time and she won’t even do that. It wouldn’t be sustainable long term because she needs medical professionals to hold her accountable by seeing her progress in person, but it’s a way over the first hump so to speak. If someone won’t even wave their arms around and eat slightly less to change their situation, they’re really honestly irredeemable in my opinion.
And I’m not saying she’s taking constant W’s by any means. She’s failing miserably at life all the time. She just doesn’t perceive herself to be failing. She’s delusional and she thinks she’s winning from her own warped point of view. She’s shallow and materialistic, so as long as she has the money to buy shit that she wants by working 2 hours a week, she thinks she’s doing great. As long as she can still get someone to take care of her, she thinks she’s winning. And honestly, it does genuinely piss off a lot of her viewers.
I saw a comment the other day on a community post about what people think is gonna happen with Wipey that really summed it up for me. It said that everything was gonna work out exactly how Amber wants it to because she never actually faces any consequences that truly put her in her place. She got “cancer” and as far as she’s concerned, she won. Her relationship with Becky didn’t work out, doesn’t matter because she filled the position with someone else. The more weight she gains, the more views she gets. The worse her personality gets, the more people come back.
She’s got people showing up on the hope that they’ll finally see her experience something bad enough to bring her to reality and it never happens. Most situations in life are very dependent on perspective and attitude as far as how they affect someone. If Amber doesn’t think she’s losing, does it really matter how everyone else feels? They can think she’s a train wreck and whatever other negative things they want. If anything, that just helps her more because it keeps people coming back week after week. Money in her pocket is literally the only thing that matters to her besides food. Until her income is actually being threatened, she will continue to think she’s doing great and everyone else is just jealous.
