US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

The grapevine has to start somewhere. Those 60 million people getting their information from media are getting it from the same media that is full of the 10% of 37 million twitter users. Those 60 million people then inform the other 140 million people that don't participate.

And regarding the media trust statistics, how much of it is truly "all" media. I have no basis for this statement (you can reject it outright as a result) but I wouldn't be surprised if most of responses were something like "I don't trust the opposite party's media" and that's categorized as "no trust in media".
You are correct that the grapevine starts somewhere, but if it were just the MSM there would be no conservatives. And that number was all media.

Now, without going into my full diatribe, let me explain some things. The vast majority of any population will actively and deliberately ignore the news. Left, right, center. Doesn't matter, they don't give a fuck beyond maybe voting 'their team' if an election occurs. These people lack any hard ideological lens though and are nominally what you'd call the Center. Center-right, Center-Left, independent, doesn't matter they all fall in the Center.

Occasionally, things make them Take Interest though. These have to fit some fairly stringent criteria and utterly lack a partisan aspect. Failing to do so is why Hunter Biden's laptop went nowhere. When something makes them Take Interest, they will suddenly shift that attitude of deliberate ignorance and begin voraciously eating up any information they can on the issue at hand.

This is where the grapevine kicks in. The origin point can be.... basically anything really. A blog post could do it, hypothetically. And once it spreads it -spreads-.

What the media does so well is not actively shaping a narrative, but passively discouraging the grapevine by providing info to politically aware which can pass into the grapevine. But this is very ineffectual and is a large part of why modern MSM is dying.

Addendum: It's also worth noting that a massive chunk of all political tactics, on both sides really, is focused around simply avoiding triggering that Take Interest point. Once it occurs there is jack and shit anyone can do to prevent the info from spreading, taking hold, and the populace from growing agitated over it. The focus is entirely on lulling people to sleep and avoiding the trigger ever occurring in the first place.

Hence why, despite almost a year of concerted effort, views of the 2020 election as fraudulent have only increased over time.

Does anybody remember why Obama picked Joe Biden.

I've been pretty politically "aware" since I was a child (as weird as that sounds) and I remember Joe getting made fun of all the time by both sides. Isn't he the guy that suggested we plebs fire a warning shot directly upwards into the air instead of shooting intruders, which is illegal?
To add on to the other users who already answered, the primary criticism that everyone had against Obama during the primaries in 2008 was that he was inexperienced in regards to foreign policy. This was a BIG talking point for Hillary Clinton since she sold herself as being involved in foreign policy as the first lady. Obama needed someone to hedge against that since in the main election, he had to deal with John McCain's "experience". As other users already mentioned, Joe Biden was the most likely person who fills the two roles of "experience" and "not outshining the president".

I'd say people are plenty agitated now, after losing American troops' lives. People here have been agitated for some time, since the collective "we" have been paying very close attention to info from a variety of sources.

Correct, this entire thing has made people notice. The question of what they will do with that notice is up for debate though. It's a mob, but a mob where no one leads the charge. Impossible to really shape, they bay for blood but don't know how to get it. It's a volatile situation, and one a competent admin would step on eggshells around.

This is not a competent admin though.

The only thing we need now is a college aged caucasian gal getting in trouble to ignite the fire there.

How badly did Joe do in the 2008 primary by the way?

They had to, since the last time this crossed their desk they gave them a softball 'try again but not this way, this is illegal as fuck' and the Admin came back with the same stupid shit they were told explicitly not to do. If they let it pass they would cede all the authority they have and show themselves as robed bitches.
Didn't this latest moratorium also come with insane penalties for evicting people? Like a $200,000 fine?

Now he's quoting the bible. issiah
The devil can quote scripture.

ironically enough, all those criticisms turned out to be pretty accurate, obama was awful on foreign policy and awful at helping downticket races, between those two things he basically gift wrapped the country over to the GOP.

also ngl, biden made the right decision to let the cdc handle the eviction. i would have expected the supreme court to cuck, they've been doing it the last year or so because they are that desperate to keep their jobs.

To be fair to Joe, a lot of people dropped out of that race with no delegates. Even the expected winner of that one, Clinton, was trounced by Obama. He was a dark horse candidate.
I remember being in high school at the time, my english teacher asked the class who they'd like to see win the election. I think there were like two people who wanted McCain to win, I was the only idiot who wanted Clinton to win dodged a real bullet there, and the entire rest of the class was for Obama. The kids really ate up that hope and change stuff.

CIA Directory drops by Afghnistan, somehow the Taliban get a list of all Americans.

Tell me again why my policy about glowies is wrong.

Milley flat out STATES they don't need Baghram and now he's saying that nobody could have stopped this?

"Paging motorpool gorilla and commo wire, paging motor pool gorilla and commo wire..."

Tell me again how nobody is allowed to judge a fuckward with 41 years who makes basic fucking strategic mistakes like this.

Go ahead.
