Speaking from my very limited experience as a faggot who doesn't use gay spaces: I think it's because most transmen are less annoying. MtF's are usually fucking insufferable, I haven't met a single one I could tolerate for longer than a few minutes. The two transmen I know personally are fine. I wouldn't fuck them, but I can imagine letting them in my house. Then again, they're both well-adjusted professional workers.
The fact of the matter is that MtF troons represent a threat to women far more than FtM troons represent a threat to men. MtF's are notorious for being emotionally abusive and physically intimidating; FtM's don't intimidate men. If it's askgaybrosover30, that subreddit is actively moderated and so people toe the party line. Regular askgaybros gets posted here from time to time precisely because it isn't moderated (and somehow hasn't attracted the ire of admins) and therefore every "hey guys I'm a trans man and wondering if you are into trans men" post is instantly met with "nah I wouldn't have sex with you" (sometimes in quite a brutal manner).
