I think it's a mixture of both. They like the feeling of having the power to just make people disappear, but they like the drama and pity that comes from having those people as enemies.

She won't say the name of this new person because she not only wants him to Holowka himself but the reason WHY she does is that he most likely has all the receipts from her throwing herself at him and telling him to treat her like shit in the process.

That would require risking self-reflection and hurting their ego. So much of the SJW tendency to double down or rationalize how things contradicting their predictions/beliefs is about ego protection.

The fact she has a Hugo award should tell you all you need to know about that joke of an organisation. It's funny how it's held all over the world yet is extremely insular - all of the winners are American and most of the nominees are too (and usually from the same two publishing houses at that), and as we've seen they pander excluisvely to the interests of a particular brand of Anglo progressive.

Also looking at Wiki and the attendance at the year she won it was 7,812; almost as many people attended the grand final of Major League Rugby, something I suspect the average American hasn't even heard of. And I suspect a far smaller number actually had a vote for the winners. European royal families are less incestuous.

If you ever want to know how awful the Hugos Awards have become, remember Lindsay Ellis has been nominated for more Hugos than Brandon Sanderson.

The voter numbers are even worse than when Quinn was nominated... I think this year's Hugo ballot had 1200 voters total.

The irony of the Sad Puppy movement is that it wasn't the last chance for the puppies to be relevant to wider culture... it was the last chace for the Hugos to be relevant. And they failed.
