I noticed a few strange things. One is nothing coming out on Friday. Another thing I noticed was they have the NBC poll showing 50% when they released a poll earlier this week that had him at 46%. The last one is some of the polling they use in the aggregate is 1 or 2 points higher than it actually says in the article they link to.

But loosing this term in particular really did turn back to being a blessing

It has also had the very important effect of shaking a bunch of people out of their belief that Trump alone would save them like some kind of Jesus figure. People now believe that widespread fraud in US elections is possible and are fighting to close down the means by which it can be done; they realise that local politics and having the right people in place is important - it's not all about who is president. In short, people realised that Trump couldn't do it alone. He needed actual support, not just cheering, and he didn't get it. Now people are beginning to act. Trump's single term may have been just what America needed. Winning the presidency showed Americans that they could fight back. Losing the presidency showed Americans that they had to.

Maybe Trump will turn out not to have been Jesus. Maybe he'll turn out to have been St. Paul.

The thing about Reagan to remember is that he was the GOP version of Obama where he was basically untouchable and that the media actively protected and pushed him as the greatest modern President ever. To such a degree, that you had shit like SNL being banned from making fun of Reagan for the bulk of his term (and only being allowed to do so when Lorne Michaels returned and had creative control to buck the network, and even then only able to do it in Reagan's last year in office.

This has LONG been a huge thing for the left, who keep pushing the meme that Reagan was actually SUPER FUCKING HATED AND DESPISED by Americans but the cowardly corporate media buried every negative Reagan story they could or anti-Reagan work produced in popular culture to create the falls image/history that Reagan was the second coming. Then 911 happened and Reagan's role in creating Al Quada and the Taliban came out and it created a MASSIVE struggle from the left and the right over Reagan's legacy and the right being super defensive over "protecting" Reagan's place in history.

I remember around like 1999 or so when I was a kid and asked my grandparents who the best president was, they said they couldn't decide, but that in their lifetime (they were born when FDR was president) it was definitely Ronald Reagan.
