reddit General

"Privatization", "congress", "uprising". It must be sweet playing grown-ups in the comfort of your gaming chair.

The words janny and tranny both end in anny, therefore they must mean the same thing. Nanny, fanny and granny must also be transphobic slurs in that guy's world.
Don't forget tyranny, which trannies / jannies are fond of accusing people of.

I dunno man I think this is urbanite millenials, with maybe some late gen-sees. People in their late 20s through early 40s who are living very unremarkable urban lives and feeling like they should have made more of themselves already and are compensating by being jannies.
Literally since time began all internet mods have always acted like this. There was never a community that didn't have fags like this at the top.

I hope they stay private, Reddit is fucking cancer. No one should use it. This is good.
Interacting with top posts? Cancer for sure. But ngl the communities there for specific hobbies like music, guitars (though people there can be cunts), transcribe, sheet music etc have been very helpful, though I dare not step outside the little bubble I have for myself cause the autism and self importance is so intense.

Either way, trying to pin this on Gen-X is a mistake. This is the tumblr/twitter generation pulling this shit, and that sure ain't GenX.

Hate to double-post, but fuck it... Yeah, even back in the day FidoNet sysops were like this. Don't like a guy downstream from you who relies on you for his feed? Fuck with him. Disconnect him arbitrarily. Who cares what the policy says? Usenet wasn't much better. That said, this sort of thing has gotten a lot worse since the tumblr/twitter generation erroneously got the idea that their hallucinations matter.

Jannies should know that as perpetually online NEETs with no useful skills and a desire to waste hours of their free time for a crumb of influence over strangers, they are extremely replaceable and will simply get kicked out after getting too inconvenient. See, if you want to really influence a major social media network, you gotta be more convincing.

(To any Luminescent Americans reading this currently, this is an obvious joke and doesn't encourage anyone to do anything, thank you.)

Maybe it's because I'm not a Redditor (see also: brain dead) but I don't really see why having a board that's anti-lockdown is a bad thing, the only people who are going to use it are likely already anti-lockdown, I highly doubt Reddit is influential enough to sway someone's opinion.

There has got to be other subreddits on that site that cause far more damage surely

Remember that all of this was caused by spez having a broken clock moment. Remember that the behavior of powerjannies up to this point has been enabled by the admins, and this meltdown over a single "no" is proof of it. Spoiled (man)children throwing a tantrum.
Throwing a complete fit over being told "no" once... maybe they're right and "janny" *is* a synonym for "tranny"...

You know, this is real insightful.

To give people a modicum of power over something that inherently has no purpose or value, intellectually or monetary, has kept them satisfied for years.

Tell them no however and their ego deflates and they strike back.

Reddit management figured out the same thing Napoleon did with regards to footsoldiers and baubles.

I hate r/NoNewNormal (and no, it's not because they are anti lockdown, I have my reasons why but that would be another story for another day) but this autistic spergfest by Reddit moderators trying to get the subreddit removed is fucking embarassing. I won't be surprised if this would later get the subreddit banned, but the effort is still pathetic: Trying to rally other moderators from other subreddits is one thing, trying to organise on Discord, freaking out over the leaks, sperging about the word "jannie/janny'", trying to get the fucking Congress to get involved, etc. is another, and this really makes me feel they are no better than the nuts at a subreddit they are trying to ban. If that effort actually makes me think the subreddit I hate is slightly better, then something is terribly fucking wrong.

I'm genuinely surprised none of the powermods involved even suggested they should be paid at this rate considering how they brought up "doing it for free" a few times and even acknowledged it.
