reddit General

why the fuck do they always suppose every single anti-vaxxer uses Facebook? I've begun noticing this lately and it's weirding me out
It's the old person's social media of choice. To them, it's not a "cool" social media website, so the only people who use it are despicable rightoids and boomers.

I mean Facebook does suck, but it's also where all the normies are. So the population is quite diverse.

Reddit has to be the shittiest platform of all anyways compared to the other "big social media sites". It has shit users, autistic overall voting system and moderation in general.

Also compared to twitter and facebook and others the site sometimes won't load which is embarrassing at this point in time and its status of being a big social media site since its users arent worth anything. It's a loser website that has no worth almost all of the time.
I will say that the one thing reddit has over twitter is that greater society correctly recognizes redditors are fucking weirdos and things posted on that site are rarely, if ever, treated as real-world important. Meanwhile, "3 antisocial shut-ins on twitter said a thing, this clearly merits our attention" is an entire genre of journalist diarrhea.

Hey everyone, there are about 1400 unique URLs from r/NoNewNormal that were archived. I'm sure people tried to save some of the more controversial or important posts. Jannies can't censor everything.

Well, so far they have:

That is so far the places they established

Just like all the faggots that swore up and down that they'd go to voat (reminder, it shut down towards the end of 2020, and it was practically dead long before that).
Voat's problem was it was created early during the sanitization of reddit, and as such practically every single thread there was sperging about jews and niggers nonstop. Communities.win has a better chance because it started when the bannings became over petty politics instead of more universally questionable content.

I had to leave after it became devoted almost exclusively to BLM sanctimony.
That phase passed pretty quick, especially once Kaep had that farce of a workout last fall, and ever since it's been limited to a few eye-rolling sticky threads from the mods. While I have to tap out whenever they start talking about Cole Beasley, it's more tolerable than about 75% of the rest of the site.

It is bordering on a weird reputation that's for sure. Most people who aren't old and explore the net would know what Reddit is and when social media is mentioned on the internet chances that Reddit will be one of them alongside Twitter and Facebook. Yet, few journos take stuff from Reddit compared to the other two sites. Maybe it's because it's more "anonymous" than other sites and pretty much anyone there could lie especially with the karma system. That and maybe the format of the whole site turns away anyone else, I guess.

Agree, voat was practically unusable unless you wanted to Jew-sperg.

Requirements to survive the kiwi meetup:
-Bullet proof vest
-Geiger counter
-Costume and voice changer
-Pokemon cards to distract autists
that should be enough to give you a 50/50 shot of not being killed/doxxed
Nah. Just surround yourself with traps in miniskirts. Because we all know you're a bunch of fucking degenerates.
"Behold, I come bearing gifts..."

I'd argue that this is the most difficult problem to solve related to alternative platforms. You're inevitably going to have a disproportionate percentage of people like that and then the media and any detractors will label your alternative as a "right-wing hate site", which will technically have a nugget of truth to it.

It should become less of an issue as sites like Reddit become less and less tolerant of dissent and alienate a larger cross-section of their audience, so we'll see how things turn out.

Honestly I think "general purpose" discussion sites are a cancer. The internet needs more specifically focused sites so things are more decentralized.

This thread and that sub were the only things that brought me back to Reddit. Now that it's gone I'm shootin' fer a full account ban by replying to all the gay ban messages with horrific hate speech. Let it burn. It's garbage.
No, keep your account. you never know when you'll want to do some quality trolling in the future :cunningpepe: The older your account is, the more confused jannies are.

In the past when mod teams have set their sub to private as a form of protest it got the admins to ban the mods and un-private the sub. One big example I can think of is World of Warcraft.

This would have been a great opportunity for the admins to finally have an excuse to ban the power mods and try to wrestle control of their site back. But instead, they gave the power mods even more legitimacy. It's bonkers.
