Fuck me sideways.
They also hate arguing.Fuck me sideways.
The ban reason is literally because, in the middle of the on topic update, the poster noted the football was starting up soon as an idle aside to lighten the tone. That is the entire reason for a fucking 7 day ban with a thinly veiled threat they deserve more.
So by the same logic if they had interjected into the middle of the same post something about a historical event, a meteorological event, some political thing, anything at all then they should be as subject to a ban.
Awesome. I expect to see that rolling out sitewide soon. It will be hilarious.
RPGNet is what happens when the nerdy victims of bullying become the bullies themselves, while simultaneously maintaining themselves as the virtuous victims.
Said bullying, in action.RPGNet is what happens when the nerdy victims of bullying become the bullies themselves, while simultaneously maintaining themselves as the virtuous victims.
LOL people getting modhammered for 'othering' by a mod team that relies on 'othering' others 24/7.
Another reason why I don't visit RPG forums anymore. They're all complete shit shows.Apologies for doublepost…
It’s probably already covered but it’s nice of the Retarded Professional Gaylords mod team to allow open discussion of police-involved fatalities…

Because the apparatus of power in communist states never killed anyone.
Right?
…Right?
……Guys?
I especially like the line "...the boundaries of acceptable discourse are necessarily narrow."
Who defines 'acceptable discourse'? Oh right, the mods.
And who determines that it's 'necessary' to have 'narrow' boundaries? Oh right, the mods again.
It sounds really reasonable until you realize it's just new-speak for 'no free speech allowed here unless we approve it'.
All this does is illustrate the yawning divide between 'legally compliant' and 'ethically sound'.Gods help me, but I'll defend them this far:
It's a private forum. There's no expectation of free speech. You're in Shannon's house. The mods have never made a secret of that, not now, not 10 years ago, not longer.
As the saying goes, play stupid games...It’s probably already covered but it’s nice of the Retarded Professional Gaylords mod team to allow open discussion of police-involved fatalities…

You do bring up a good point. At what point do we start realizing that snakes bite by nature and that the dummy who keeps walking around in front of them, barefoot, gets what they deserve. Granted ENWorld isn't much better, but it's still an alternative. I can't see why anyone in their right mind would want to share their thoughts on RPGNET anymore.Gods help me, but I'll defend them this far:

You know, the owner of the copyright to The Everlasting games was a police officer killed in the line of duty. I liked some of the ideas in those games and I’m disappointed to see the game fall into legal limbo (the magician’s companion book still isn’t available on drivethrurpg and now it never will be).Apologies for doublepost…

Ironically I could hit both agree and disagree on this statement, depending on pedantic definitions.Odd, most defenses of 'conservatism' boils down to shitting on the left to the point you won't notice the right has been a hollowed out joke for decades.
Imagine a police officer acting like an rpg mod.Apologies for doublepost…

That's probably how a lot of RPG.net mods think interactions with the police always are like, if your skin is on the "not OK" side of the color chart.Imagine a police officer acting like an rpg mod.
"Oh you want your lawyer? Talking back - that's a lifetime ban from the USA."
You're actually 100% correct. The thing is when they are called out on that, that there are acceptable viewpoints only and that anything contrary to those will be greeted with bans and lectures, they will deny it.Gods help me, but I'll defend them this far:

You have a point in that I've never been a member of the site and if I joined it right now in its current form and got the inevitable banhammer on my second or third post for saying something sane and normal, I'd rightly be laughed at because what the fuck did you expect, idiot?Gods help me, but I'll defend them this far:
