Also the passport that was promised and the alledged photo ofByuu's corpse, random twitter person.

I have a photo of his corpse, but to be honest I don't think that would be kind to his loved ones. No doubt you would say it is photoshopped

He also claims to have certificates for his Death, or at least claimed to have one at one point, but he never went through with this.
This makes me mildly upset. Having handled and requested these documents before, they aren't (what I consider) a trivial cost & probably even more expensive when you try an online service that mails them express to you. You don't typically request them unless you're an immediate family member or extremely close friend/lover, and even then you're typically not going to incur the cost unless you're trying to prove to an insurance or credit card or cell company that someone's Truly & Honestly® dead for closing accounts and getting payouts. Maybe a farmer would collect one as some sort of trophy of a successful dox, but highly unlikely.

The way Hector acts, he's a fucking liar. He's got no documents. If he did he'd proudly screenshot them, because they're actually pretty nice documents to hold and share, when you're not wrapped up in the morbidity of closing out someone's life and mailing 4-6 of them to the folks I mentioned above.

Hector sure as shit doesn’t have a death certificate. Only Byuu’s family would have it not some random Spanish dude who just says he knows him. And Byuu’s family has been suspiciously tight lipped about this.

Not sure if you're joking, but the answer is unironically autism. Having high-quality cycle-accurate emulation is important for the future of preservation, and it's something you can only easily do when you have real hardware that still works allowing you to test out all the nuances and esoteric bullshit. You might not think it matters beyond "mario world plays fine with no lag", but I'm very glad there's retards out there willing to spend their time making emulators (and subsequent documentation of the hardware) as accurate as possible.
I have real hardware, a used SNES is absurdly cheap. A good flash cart is a bit pricy, but it's very much worth the money. For those who want a perfect 1:1 experience nothing will ever compare to dedicated hardware. Emulation is fine for casual play when decent is good enough, but what we really need is better 3rd party hardware solutions.

In 50 years, there will be far fewer SNES consoles that still work well. We need to create near-perfect software emulation *and* FPGA solutions to ensure the games that aren't incredibly popular will still work correctly.

In 50 years hardware will have progressed enough for overhead not to matter, so emulation of SNES will be far easier by virtue of sheer computing power.

...yes, which is why we should be working on cycle-accurate emulation *now*. It doesn't matter that bsnes is slow as shit on a lot of computers now, because it's really not for general use at the moment.

Also, by "we" I mean "they". ;)

If a person cares enough about the genuine experience to care about cycle perfect 1:1 emulation then they would never be satisfied by software emulation anyway, Software is incapable of recreating the exact experience, that requires having dedicated hardware connected to a CRT.
The market a project like BSNES is created for simply doesn't exist. It's like arcade machine enthusiasts, some will emulate but the ones who truly care about that 1:1 experience spend an absurd amount for dedicated hardware, because even pixel perfect emulation isn't the same experience.

The only reason it's even on my mind is the Logan Paul shit from years back, but the ONLY possible way a weeb like Near could go unreported is if he wandered into the Suicide Forest in Aokigahara and was one of those troopers who gets in deep and the body isn't found for a few months by park patrol. There's virtually no data on westerners doing this however, and westerners are on average less likely to be suicidal in japan so it's on the absolute fringe of chances that it happened. If it was even remotely possible, someone would have mentioned it on twitter by now and group-investigated further so check that off your list of future excuses Hector.

Did anyone really believe Near killed himself though? I mean it was so obvious a gay ops against kiwifarms and it failed not even a week later because nobody cares about near.
USA Today stated he was dead. That would be convincing for many.

I’m flabbergasted the fact-checkers signed off on the article. Death confirmed via his boss, and no funeral/wake/family confirming, let alone actual verification.
Here is the obituary of David Kirk Ginder's father Terry Lee Ginder in 2011:

It must be the same Terry Lee Ginder referenced in this post. Isanti County is almost empty, and Cambridge (pop 8k) is its county seat. Terry divorced Diana in 1984 and must have remarried.

No mention of a son David. Was he disowned, before or after his 2009 marriage to Patrick?
Wrong obit. Same year of death and last name.

I disagree. I use bsnes because certain romhacks won't work on Snes9x. The first one that comes to mind is Super Mario /v/orld 2: https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&t=103735
Unless it was a problem with the Retroarch core or something, I don't know. All I know is bsnes played it just fine, whereas Snes9x wouldn't display the Yotsuba hair logo or go beyond that point. The point is, there is very much a usecase for bsnes, and it isn't just insane autists. I do use CRTs 90% of the time when emulating because having it display and look correctly is far more important to me than esoteric clock-cycle bullshit, but that's just me.
