Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I mean, if the sci-fi movie in question actually mirrored these events it might actually make sense, but this is Star Wars so it's nonsense. I'm pretty certain a Star Trek episode would've been closer to the mark.

After decades of warfare in Afghanistan since the Soviets were first there, and the later US invasion and international involvment, it's uncanny to see them dressed in Tacticool gear and possessing trigger discipline.

They didn't just fight for the sake of fighting, they were learning, too. They were at a point where they were training actual retards to suicide bomb markets or bases because they had so little capable manpower. Now they're back and ready for action. It's like Thin Lizzy's song 'The Boys Are Back in Town'.

Mitt Romney is the "Nice Guy" of politics. He spends so much effort trying to suck up to Democrats and left-of-center voters, to get nothing but pity and contempt in return. Ask a typical Democrat and they'll probably say they respect Romney, but they'd never even consider voting for him.

Funny thing is that Flight Simulator and DCS don't have the UH-60 and the latest edition of Flight Simulator has no helicopters at the moment. In the past they had the Bell 206 helicopters, that kind that news corporations use.

The Battlefield video game serious funny enough doesn't have the UH-60 and uses the UH-1 Huey.

I am disappointed that Metal Gear Soild V didn't allow players to use the blackhawk that flies us around.

Its amazing how they managed to get a single bird off the ground given how the media and Hollywood and many right wing blowhards been calling them dumb and stupid goatfuckers for years and years.

That also tells me if we didn't sell food to China they could be in quite a fix, depending on what they could buy from the rest of the world. Not many places produce the surpluses of food that would meet China's needs.

Correct, China is actually a major importer of food and runs an annual food trade deficit >50 billion right now (IIRC). The main reason is the rising living standards have created new demands among their populace, so it's why meat in particular has become a hot commodity and why obesity has exploded over there since 2000.

What exacerbates the issue is that China relies heavily on aquifer-fed irrigation for a lot of their crops, and many of those aquifers are set to expire in the 2030s per current estimates. Coincidentally this is also a problem the Midwest will experience around the same time, but the US is a net exporter of food and can tank the loss - China cannot.

Even easier than that - ANA (Afghanistan National Army). Am certain many ANA pilots/flight crews went over to the Taliban, or had been secret Taliban all the time they were in the ANA, getting US training, etc. Likely some maintainers, too. Seriously, does anyone think the Afghanis did a good job vetting anyone except their very few female pilots? I sure as hell don't.

True. Hell, even those that weren't loyal to the Taliban before would be suicidal to not join up with them now in exchange for amnesty. Probably more than a few of those Afghan special ops guys mentioned upthread to show them how to use all that fancy kit we left them, too.
