For most people, the cops knocking on your door and reading you the riot act would be enough to bring about a change in behavior.
Obviously, this is not the case with Chantal.
But what it might do, as
@I call shenanigans points out, is put her on their radar. I don't know about the instant-read cameras in Ontario, though that's intriguing. What this is definitely doing, however, is creating a paper trail. When she inevitably crashes and kills/maims a person(s) and not just a raccoon, stuff like this gets taken into consideration for sentencing. Even if she's merely pulled over (with or without the plate reading technology) the fact that she's been warned repeatedly by now really makes it hard to argue that it was a momentary lapse in judgment and that she should be let off with a slap on the wrist. That, however, is the very VERY best case scenario, and little else will ever come of reporting her.
I get being concerned with her being on the roads but unless circumstances align just so and the caller can tell exactly where she is and the cops are able to intercept her quickly, the best that will likely happen is she gets a harsher sentence if and when she actually does fuck up and crash. I can't stress this enough. It will be too late to prevent the tragedy. Someone half a planet away who can't even tell dispatch what cross streets she's at with any real certainty doesn't help the immediate issue; she'll still be on the road, driving all night and putting people at risk.
And she
will not learn from being visited the morning after by the cops. No one's scaring her straight. Until and unless she's actually pulled over for dangerous/distracted driving or she wrecks her car or runs over a human being, it will never
ever sink into her fat skull that she can't do whatever she wants and face no consequences whatsoever. She has never faced a consequence in her life -- even when she
should, like when she needed surgery because she refused to manage her ovarian cysts, or Bibi left her because she was insufferable, she just rewrites things so it wasn't her fault. She's literally already doing this with the cops, accusing people of making shit up and pontificating about how it's totally not illegal you guys, this is Canada! And the cops were hot and totally wanted her and they said she could do whatever drugs she wanted as long as it's in her own house and she can livestream when she's driving as long as she doesn't read the chat and THEY TOTALLY WANTED HER, did she mention? There's no point in trying to change her behavior. Nothing short of handcuffs will actually register with her as being serious.
tl;dr Don't tip the cow. It's not going to accomplish anything. It will make
no difference in preventing her from killing someone.
