Real talk, if this were to happen would it definitely result in a war? As much as Americans don't want to be involved in another war in the Middle East, the unprovoked slaughter of hundreds of innocents would definitely warrant reprisal. If it were my citizens, I honestly wouldn't be satisfied unless a proportionate amount of blood is shed.

Koreans and Vietnamese flooded to America after that conflict and I'm sure the same was true for Operation Desert Storm 1. Go back far enough and Mexicans, Native Americans and Brits probably did the same
As for the ANA, as far back as 2010 (and earlier, no doubt) it was obvious that the ANA were useless, for two reasons; 1) They feared the Taliban and didn't want to fight them, but liked being paid by the West and 2) They were probably Taliban getting free training. The west purposely did a piss-poor job of training 80% of the ANA (those who joined the West on front-line missions were their version of the SAS, and were trained well and praised highly). The west knew not to train the ANA to world-class standards, because when the inevitable collapse came, you didn't want western-tier fighters aligning with the Taliban.

I honestly don't know, from what I've personally seen almost everyone is fedup with our adventures involving killing sand people, seeing BILLIONS worth of equipment being given to our enemies while local infrastructure crumbles was a big eye opener for a lot of people. If the September slaughter were to occur I could see just as many people (if not more) blaming and calling for Biden's head as people calling for a return to the middle east.

I do hope that's the case and that we won't just passively permit the war pigs to send us back in.
