I went full autismo for a moment to see if I could cross check the deaths listed with news stories or anything like that. A US Marine drowned in Okinawa, remains identified on June 9th. This death isn’t listed on the report, but I’m guessing military deaths are excluded.

I'm not with the state department so I can't obviously say for sure but maybe if say it occurred on base, it's not considered "In Japan" as far as the the state is concerned? Sort of like how APO addresses are still technically considered US addresses.

I think this is probably the most profitable avenue of inquiry, but wording would need to be extremely careful. And it probably wouldn't be a terrible follow up question for those who have already emailed since it is a reasonable question given the parameters the agency put forth in their extremely short replies.

Something like "Since the US embassy is unable to comment on any specifics regarding individual US citizen deaths overseas, can you comment on whether there were any non-military US citizen deaths in Japan in the month of June 2021, which are known to the US embassy? Guys, even though there are some overwhelming coincidences, Byuu/Near is clearly dead.

Here's why:

• We totally don't know how to identify a pretty accurate range on when a body died. We just guess. Whenever the body was found was whenever they died.
• A government website got the TOD on a body wrong and will report again in 6 months.
• Japan fudged the paperwork while trying to report to one of their closest allies that someone from their country died. Somehow Mexico is better than Japan on this.
• The cookie jar is a cheap option because Byuu was, without a doubt, poor.
• Instead of family or friends getting the cookie jar, @Wayne Beckett was given it because Byuu has no friends. And it's open-topped just so @Wayne Beckett can occasionally stare at the ashes and add tears of despair.
• A cop just decided to break the fundamental rules of a culture of extreme privacy for some rando. Just trust them, bro.
• The embassy absolutely commented on something to some rando and just happen to not want to comment now. They must know who the dang dirty Kiwis are.

Hell, the domain registration or rented server might expire before then but it seems to be impossible to find out when the domain was registered because the ICANN lookup refuses to generate a result. Hopefully Byuu pre-paid for server costs and the domain registration before he died.
• Did you know that an ex-KF moderator by the handle CIA Nigger once deleted Byuu's thread about the same time last year that Byuu definitely committed 41% this year? It's true. Notice anything weird about the date? Hint: the HTTPS certificate was updated 2 days after this first attempt to delete the thread.

As you can see, you guys are over thinking this so hard.
