"Inconvenient" being somewhat of an understatement for the biggest single responsibility and fiscal commitment in your life. If some random person was gonna "inconvenience" me without my consent by even half that much and for a third of the time, I'd seriously consider killing them as well. That's not what "net" means. It is extremely unlikely that an extra $500 per month (that's about the maximum gross increase you'd see) will see you better off once all costs are factored in. It's possible that you would see a marginal gain during low-cost periods while the child was young, but occasional large expenses would tend to offset this, and overall expenses only go up as the child gets older if you want them to have any kind of life. If you're working poor then part-time childcare alone will wipe you out.

She ended up bailing on racing and landed a gig as a trophy girlfriend/beard for Aaron Rogers last time I heard her be talked about in the media

I also remembered that the only race she won in IndyCar, was because everyone else had to pit for fuel late in the race. At least Charlie Kimball, who also received some media hype in IndyCar due to him racing as a diabetic, won a race (2013 at Mid-Ohio), based on actual racing performance.

Kamala's end goal most definitely is to survive Biden's first term and then bail ASAP and pray as hard as she can, that she can worm her way back into her old Senate seat. Or maybe even Governor of California if the Democrats lose the recall election.
Biden's killed any chance of her getting made President and the best she can hope for, is getting her old seat back or a turn as Governor. You could easily make the case that she'd prefer being governor or Senator and the whole "you know how much power I had to give up to be VP" card where Kamala PREFERS her life as a Senator over being VP, especially since being a Californian Senator in a deep blue state, gives her ultimate job security.

In fairness, she was a reasonably good IndyCar driver, which is kind of like being a reasonably good AA baseball player. She got in way over her head and failed miserably against top competition (yes, NASCAR was top competition in oval racing. That's where the money was, even if it is kind of boring and redneck). She was also a distasteful fame-whore through and through.
Glad you pointed out how she bearded for Aaron Rodgers to keep her name in the headlines on the way down, I wondered if others caught that. Aaron Rodgers had a male partner for years, until he got more famous and his agent told him he needed to "date" famous thots for appearances to get the big bucks from corporate shilling.

Nascar has a problem. I never cared for it but it seems they felt they were competing with stick and ball sports and kept changing the rules, or something like that.

Not what actually happened
After California and to be more exact, the black and Hispanic population of California, told the gays to kill themselves by banning gay marriage, the gay mafia was divided on how to proceed from having the biggest most powerful liberal state in the union tell gay people to kill themselves via banning gay marriage in a state referendum. The gay mafia was divided as some wanted to do what not been done before, when other state that legally banned gay marriage did itand basically sue California to get the referendum overturned because fuck the will of the masses. Because California personally had to be brought back into line for rejecting the gays as publicly as they did.
The other side however, wanted more hearts and minds shit and came up with the idea to having a good number of closeted gay athletes in the NFL, NBA, and MLB come out of the closet all at once as a rebuke towards what they saw was homophobia running amuck. The idea being that if major sports had openly gay athletes, then it would create a seismic shift towards acceptance of gays and could allow the gays to push for alternatives to either overturn the gay marriage ban at the ballot box or to force Obama and his then Democrat majority, to pass laws legalizing gay marriage and negate the state legislation banning it without running the risk of the Supreme Court ruling against gay marriage and ending the debate once and for all against the gays.
Aaron Rogers was one of the NFLers recruited to come out and him and his "personal assistant" IE lover, was thrilled about it since his boyfriend was getting kind of tired of having to lie in public about their relationship. However, Aaron and several of the other Big Name gay athletes suddenly got super cold feet; supposedly due to the fact that there was rumors floating that sponsorship deals would be voided on morality clauses and teams cutting players who came out.
The big names, including Aaron, then decided NOT to come out of the closet, which made the lesser known gay players then refuse to come out, since they only agreed to do so if the big names did to give them cover from the above mention retaliation from the teams and sponsors.
Aaron's boyfriend threw a huge screaming tantrum, dumping Aaron for being a coward. Supposedly Aaron's family had to personally intervene to keep his ex-boyfriend from running to the tabloids and outing Aaron to spite him for not coming out willingly, begging him to stay quiet and delete his social media where he made a TON of cryptic posts implying that he was not just a personal assistant but Aaron's lover.
Afterwards, the always single Aaron suddenly started a series of high profiled romances that screamed "beard!" with women like Patrick and the chick from Newsroom/G4. Which indicated that Aaron was going full-tilt into the closet, complete with him suddenly growing various mustache that screamed repressed homosexual trying to act straight.

In the 1990s/early 2000s Nascar managed to finagle it's way up the second or third most popular sport in America and there was serious consideration it might pass the NFL and become the most popular.
Which I mean is fairly lol now but the 90s were weird and now Nascar's full of corporate suits trying recapture the "magic" with gay rule changes while the casual fans fucked off to whatever was the next big zeitgeist and the hardcore fans fucked off to other sports or whatever. At least that's my reading of it.
