But if you want to tell me and everyone else who has diligently worn their masks, avoided people, sanitized their workplaces religiously and registered themselves in lists when out shopping, that all of this is worth nothing now because experimental vaccines exist and that they are actively killing people when they decline the offer, then please go ahead. I'm not anti vaccines. I see that they help right now, I'm understanding the basics of how they work and do think the most vulnerable demographics probably profit from them. I'm just cautious and would like to be allowed to remain cautious.

It is an emotional topic and I guess I'm not always as reasonable as I like to think, either. It was referencing the 'unvaccinated people are taking up valuable space in hospitals' argument. That kinda results in people dying and it's what unvaccinated people are being shamed for.

Regarding the other point, though: It did slow the spread, which vaccines alone still don't do. That gave us time to develop those and disperse them among the most vulnerable groups. What I'm arguing is that we should consider stopping now if the vaccines really are that safe. Those who needed them the most got them and are protected, right? So why push it further on everyone else when there are no more benefits to society as a whole?

They managed to raise an entire hospital in a very short amount of time, demonstrating what a country can do for her people if she really wants to. That was the focus. But yeah, maybe an authoritarian, communist country wasn't really the best suited example, good point.
