It's considered rude to others readers and is bad form all-around. I don't mind when the reply is several written paragraphs responding to several paragraphs. But usually when people do that, they're replying to one specific sentence in a very long post, and only adding like 5 words.

It makes the page longer than it needs to be when you have 5-10 retards doing it at a time per-page, especially annoying when I'm reading and catching up on a thread over several pages. Or when you have the same long post, with literally 6 replies quoting the entire post under it, in a row, just to add a couple words and smileys. Don't do this fag shit.

When I want to reply to long posts, it tends to be with another long post, since they tend to be more discussion-oriented. If anything, replies should be disabled for dumb short shitposts under a certain word limit, not longer posts that merit more in-depth conversation.

It's just some broken-ass shit that makes discussion nearly impossible if you don't know how to work around it because it's utterly fucking idiotic. If it's on purpose, literally eat a dick. Here's how to work around it.

Find a post with a reply button, right-click it, pick "copy link" or whatever. Paste that into the address bar. Now go back to the post you actually want to reply to. Right click the post number in the upper right hand corner of the post. Then paste in the post number, replacing the end of the url you just pasted into the address bar. Usually this is the last four numbers.

Hit return. Ta-da, you now have a normal reply window quoting the original post.

If this shit is on purpose it is pure idiotic faggotry.

FINALLY was able to log in this morning.

For the last few days have had to log in every day, wouldn't stay logged in. Put in user name and p/w. Site says no go. Request p/w reset, get message, change to same p/w. Could log in. Yesterday site couldn't send me a reset message at all.

Today logged in with email address. Amazingly, that worked. Hope I can stay logged in now.

We seem to be being DDOS attacked again. It started shortly after it was announce that byuu is miraculously alive, so it might be him or one of his friends, but nobody really knows for sure - it might just be that someone knows Jersh is on vacation and their monthly tugboat came in.

No login issues, but maybe 1 time out of 5 I get an Error 522/"Connection timed out". Is there anything I can do or is this Cloudflare messing with Dear Leader?

EDIT: And for reasons I cannot explain, a screencap of the error message stalled out while trying to upload the first time, then uploaded in less than a second when I tried a second time.

there used to be a forum etiquette during the prime era for forums where if the post you were quoting was incredibly long, you'd just replace it with a "-snip-" or some derivative of that. alternatively you'd just cut it down to actual segments of the post you were responding to.
obviously this has been forgotten as forums have dropped off from public attention, so when a twitter zoomie joins a forum they're inevitably going to make that mistake if they don't pay attention to how large their post is going to be because of the quote.

i find this change annoying but i get why its been implemented; perhaps the permission to quote long posts could become related to account age so people who actually understand how forums work can still quote anything they want easily.

FINALLY!!!! For the last several days, I haven't been able to log in! You know how you get sent the log-in verification after you put in your password? It never got sent to my e-mail! And then it took about five or six tries before I got one that fucking worked! I was ready to tear my hair out!
