So Phil said tonight that, unlike when he was on Twitch, tips help him the most now because he is making thousands less than he did from cheers and subs. Now, he needs that money from bills 'up front' to pay his bills. He explained this is why he incentivizes tips and not really the memberships or superchats.
Alright, let's run down this lie and retcon.
1. Phil was begging for tips to pay his bills from January of this year until his ban from Twitch. He was begging for tips money to pay his bills that month because without his Twitch paycheck, he wouldn't have been able to afford any bills. He then got that paycheck anyway. But this suggests that, in the month he was banned from Twitch, when he was making thousands more, Phil was still reliant on tips to pay bills that month and had nothing to fall back on from the previous month in cheers and subs. Either he was lying for months about the importance and purpose of tips on Twitch, or he's lying now.
2. If Phil was making thousands more monthly, how was he 'tight' then, and how is he still the same kind of 'tight' now? He got $6k in cheers from Boone and still begged for tips.
3. Phil raised the tips goal to $200 and $150 with the express purpose of compensating for his decreased income on Twitch, after previously saying that $100/stream was unprecedented and more than he could ever expect in the future when the vest streak ended. This would mean that he scaled his spending to his increased income instead of saving as more has now become expected.
4. If Phil was not reliant on tips the last few months on Twitch, why were there no incentives for superchats and memberships on Twitch? He carried over the exact same incentive model that he was using for the vest streak, which he used until he left Twitch, and at no point did he indicate that cheers and subs were worth incentivizing.
5. If there is any hope of regrowing the channel, speaking from a business perspective, things like memberships would need to be incentivized. But Phil just wants to beg harder because that's all he had to do on Twitch.
Just think for a second on the magnitude of this retcon, given that he just came off the 'unprecedented' vest streak, and has, as we have seen, maintained his income from Twitch anyway.
Nothing about this is true. Nothing about this makes sense.
He is absolutely banking on people being retarded, or just opting to be scammed, and this retcon is one of the most quietly audacious he has pulled because there is absolutely no evidence to support what he's saying, and evidence that debunks every aspect of it in videos on his channels.
If anyone wants a detractor video idea, you could clip Phil from tonight saying that he was not reliant on tips on Twitch and follow that with him begging to tips every. Single. Month.
