This is a complaint from like 6 months ago, which tells me you haven't really interacted face-to-face with these people in a couple months. If you go outside and talk to these people, 5 words in of your above statement you would already just be shut down with "are you questioning science you conspiracy theorist?" without realizing the irony of such a statement and not a single target employee will bat an eye when you are shouted out of the store.

Also keep in mind that natural immunity was not mentioned once in this little show. The only reason to ignore it is if it is inconvenient. Remember, we are here forever. Lockdowns and mandatory scheduled medical procedures are our future. The only business that will be allowed to exist is the government's and the corporations that are enmeshed with it. The only people who will be allowed to move around in the future are those who are so compliant to the wishes of the state that they will give of their own body to it in order to go on their one allowed vacation trip to a corporate resort or cruise.

I'm not averse to any size conspiracy theories, but I think this situation is a nightmare for most politicians and they're just doing what they always do, which is trying to make themselves look righteous and competent. There are a whole bunch of sub-conspiracies still possible in that scenario, including ones that seek to control and subjugate the masses, but the whole thing is too chaotic to believe that it was planned out. I hope I'm right and you're wrong, but I'm open to either possibility. Regardless, there are very unpleasant days ahead in the next 1-200 years for a lot of people, so the point may be moot. This pandemic is directly tied to our population boom which is a result of our preference for technology. Population density and travel fuels the spread of a virus that was born out of a technological pursuit of a cure for future potential pandemics. No one could write this shit. But the universe always zeros out its balance sheet.

The irony would be that all the mitigation efforts, to whatever extent they're effective, are just prolonging the misery.
