That is a respectable stance. I tend to be a loophole finder until pushed into a corner where no more wiggle room exists. When everyone else was getting their jabs in the spring, I opted for lying by omission because nobody asked directly if I was or not. Now, I have been coerced into answering by HQ to continue doing the parts of my job I enjoy the most, so fuck em. They get the answer they want to CYA and I get the thrill of knowing I am a plague spreader who could kill all their Grandmas at any moment.

A few thoughts now that I've blown off some steam:
1. I dont believe they expect this to hold up in court. But they know that issuing this rule change gives businesses an excuse to mandate vaccines when they might have otherwise feared the backlash.
2. Much like the eviction moratorium it gives cover to states/localities to enact heir own, harder to challenge, mandates.

Oddly enough I'm more willing to take my chances with the feds than work. I owe something to work. For all that people bitch about not getting paid what they're worth, I do very little and feel like I get paid quite a lot. Or I might just have some small town indoctrination I've taken with me into the corporate world like an idiot.

You're right. It's also worth recognizing that people on here and elsewhere are allergic to organizing, so much so here that it could be said to be against the site rule to not get involved. I know this isn't the place for that sort of thing and I'm not sure I'd want it to be, but there really isn't organization at all on this side of things for any kind of action, let alone street protests.
People are that way. People need someone or something to tell them what the plan is, someone or something that gives the impression that there is a long game being played and what they are doing is helping with it. Without that, even if people want to, they just won't do anything. Almost every mass movement in modern history has been astroturfed in some way, or rather the result of some strong hand directing the matter, and certainly the modern left wing ones are all sponsored and organized by one growth or another of the regime. With everything else going on, I would not doubt they've done research in to what it takes to get people moving and are actively manipulating the required catalysts as benefits them.
There's a lot that could be said about this but I'll just say when a leader won't nominate themselves, it can fall on the crowd to more or less force someone to be a leader for them. It's something that has happened before. It's risky, but nothing can happen without some form of leadership, and that leader putting people to work on the more mundane logistical side of whatever kind of effort. Of course, action can be counter productive, and it would be bad to be baited in to something the other side is ready to exploit. But at the same time a total lack of preparation and capability is a certain loss condition.
I suppose that most organization happens among small groups offline, and online messaging is mostly used to rally the troops. One distributed pattern would be small groups of two to four people capable of managing themselves, who can autonomously respond to relevant dispatches. Even establishing that dispatch network and the sources of information it uses is something to figure out. Left wing groups last year had networks of people inside political machines helping inform them where their pressure would be worthwhile, not that opposition to them can or should behave symmetrically. My thoughts are still scattered on all this, but I really hope more people are at least thinking about it, receptive to it, maybe even weaving baskets with similarly minded people in real life, and not just blaming the boomers, as bad as they are.
Point being, if there were organization that could direct you to meaningful action, are you willing and prepared to participate? Anything from staffing crucial polling locations, to helping /ourguy/s gain power, to being ready to act when one of our communities needs help, to being prepared for the worst. While on the broad scale we're often shit out of luck, by having people working together to identify and act on worthwhile uses of our time, and by looking a lot less like pedophiles while doing it, we can make a lot of jannies real mad.

I'm so annoyed by this. As a fat man in my 30's I was going to go get the vaccine next time I went to my local grocery store now that it's approved. But I work at a place with 300 employees that does federal contract work, so I know I'm going to be mandated.
The mandate is the one thing that is going to push me back from getting it.
