Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Reminder that alcohol withdrawals can sometimes require medical intervention. Without it, the person could die due to seizures and other nasty complications. Big brain move, you magnificent cunts.
I wrote this in a dsp thread, one of my very first factory jobs the guy next to me took nips out of a flask all night and arrived at work stinking drunk. He ran out of booze, as we were taking off our gear for the night, he makes this “hurrreetttt” (ett like Boba Fett, not “eeet” like a rodent), stiffens up, falls flat as a board and started seizing. This was 1994 ish and I didn’t know his last name so I can’t look him up, he was 60ish anyhow. We had riveting discussions on soap operas and then-new Tng episodes, he was alright.
The ambulance took him away, we never saw him again and I got promoted to another building.

family friend != friend, at least in my experience. among other things, every single one of my parents' friends were insanely strict and did shit like only let their kids watch an hour of tv a week, forget video games so i'd have a fucking thing to talk about with their weirdo kids /rant
They're not my friend, more of a friend to my parents. I talk to him about covid for shits and giggles.
Yeah, let's just be realistic here: due to social media, "friend" is a very loose and meaningless term. For example, the amount of Facebook friends I have is within the triple digits, but probably fewer than ten of them are actual people that I would willingly hang out with on a personal level. The rest are people who attended school with me [but I never even met], distant relatives, significant others of quasi-friends, and even brief casual acquaintances that I was polite enough to accept their request. Hell, I'm friends on Facebook with some guy that I spoke to for a few seconds at a convention several years ago. That being said, I see a metric ton of cancer on my timeline from people I barely even know.

Wtf is the writer a deluded tranny? How deranged do you need to be to make it about that?

If it weren't for the hairstyle, I'd have a hard time believing these are the same person.

Either I'm looking at the wrong blog page or his blog, published on Cengage, was last updated in 2014 (archive of front page).

The Honolulu Police Department is threatening to fire a 24-year veteran officer, because he hasn't gotten vaccinated.

Speaking of which, has there been any cases of someone either attempting to murder, or actually murdering someone else, just because that someone else is not vaccinated? I have a feeling that we're going to see someone do that, as a form of "vigilante justice" against the anti-vaxxers, and the killer will be treated as a "martyr", and not a murderer, and may not even get charged for murder. The anti-vaccination mandate rallies look to be opportune areas for someone to conveniently have a simultaneous brake failure and stuck throttle in a car, as the people in those said rallies get knocked around like bowling pins as the said car drives through them. Or a father pulls a Chris Benoit on his wife and children, because they either refuse to get vaccinated, or the children are not old enough to get vaccinated.

Unlike the vaxxholes, I do not wish upon any vaxed person illness or death to be proven right. I just was this microbe to go extinct asap.

I don't even care about the microbe. I am 100% fine with being proven wrong, but it needs to be proven. You can't just fucking scream it from all angles and expect me to be willing to go along with it. Normally I'm a very conflict averse guy, but I am not willing to get the vax because it does not work. The safety of it is my second concern because there's obviously something fucked around these things. But at the end of the day, if it does not make me immune to the virus it is supposedly a vaccine for it makes no sense to take it and risk any side effects. I also don't take flu vaccines and I'm pretty sure those work way better than the vaccine was ever supposed to. I just want to go back to actual normal. Not this new normal bullshit, not vaccine mandate normal, not mask mandate normal. Just regular old normal.

Because they have zero critical thinking ability and absorb commands at face value. They see no logical issue with "I'm vaccinated so I'm safe but the vaccines simultaneously are and aren't effective but it's better than nothing and it's because there are unvaccinated people putting me and my loved ones in danger even though we're vaccinated"
The passports are being justified with the rationale that the unvaccinated are putting the vaccinated at risk. That the vaccinated can't spread the virus to another vaccinated person but the unvaccinated can spread the virus to someone who's had the jabs.

It goes without saying that this is crazy from a scientific viewpoint, the virus doesn't care whether you've had the vaccine or not, if you're immune you're protected if you're not you can catch it from anyone who carries the virus.

However it's also genius rhetoric. It confers magical properties on the vaccines and it allows for the othering and dehumanising of a minority. Lots of people eat up that shit.
The government will send you to prison and Psaki will make fun of you for it. This is not a good idea. This is a big deal.

I was excited to read this thread today because my mental health wasn't doing well. Instead, I see leftist retards dancing their way into the government's stupid narrative. I wish anyone talking about vax cards would just leave the thread.
Stop moral fagging. If you've been given two bad choices, get the jab and risk your health or lose your livelihood, then the only sane, and yes moral choice, is to lie. Absent a central database that has access to your medical records there is no way for employers to check your vaccination status besides your vaccine card. If someone is worried about the very low risk of being found out then make them fire you, don't resign.

I'm putting sunglasses on because you glow so much.

No, that's retarded. It's not a low risk at all.

The only sane, moral choice is to tell your employer how you honestly feel. If you get fired, that was their decision.

Part of the reason this drives me crazy is because it gives authoritarians the idea, "Well, there are two groups of people, the vaccinated, and then the criminals who hide their views." Which one do you the public will think is right?

We're already right. We already have the moral high ground. We don't need to be deceptive or break the law about it.

Edit to tag @borsabil because quote is being difficult.

If anyone brings up vaccines to me I think I'm gonna be all like, "They use needles for those! Don't you know? Needles are what drug addicts use to get high!?" in my best scandalized housewife voice.
Personally I don't care if someone gets the vaccine or not, but I do not like all the weirdness from TPTB over it.

I really thought the Reddit propaganda was at a fever pitch this month, I step outside my boobs and cute animals comfy zones and it’s like a shitposting a.i. has doubled down on it.
I see content creators within hobbies share their opinions and it's a mess. Most are just extremely pro-China, and act like low-functioning autists sperging out at any criticism of China, BLM, vaccines, and so on. Granted I've tried watching streams and they're boring and most make DSP look thick skinned and well adjusted.

The decision whether to lie to your employer or not comes in two parts. First is it morally wrong to lie? No it fucking isn't. They're making an irrational and unreasonable request that we should surrender our bodily autonomy and consent to a lifetime of endless vaccinations and boosters which carries unknown health risks which we know with a certainty offers almost no protection against a virus that is harmless to healthy people. The only consideration that should bother anyone is the likelihood of getting caught and what punishment may be brought down on you if you are.

@borsabil when you're right, you don't have to be a deceptive criminal. This idea that you're going to save your job by playing 5d chess because your employer isn't plugged in to a database or whatever you're saying, it's just dumb and it will backfire on the vaccine opposition as a whole.

If you think that your only choice is to lie to your employer and give them a false(r) sense of security, there's no way you think you're doing the right thing.

Also, if you're going to break the law, don't be a vegan about it and try to recruit others. It makes us all look like retards.

"Oh yeah, I really fucking LOVE science too! Infact, I love SCIENCE so much that I'm part of the control group!"

That's my go-to should anyone mention it to me. I live in the boondocks though so no-one here really gives a shit.

It makes us look like we believe we're wrong. There's only one group of people that can't be trusted here, and it's the government. We don't have to go out of our way to be deceptive.

Yes we should definitely stick to our principles when faced with totalitarian repression. While watching my family being carted off to death camps I can comfort myself in knowing that at least I didn't lie.

Also I'm not encouraging anyone to break the law. Each individual will have to weigh up the risks according to their situation, something I literally wrote in my last post.

You're a moral fag. No one cares that you're in the right and they're in the wrong least of all the government.

not 100% related but linus tech tips videos since like late 2020 had them wearing masks whenever two or more people were around each other. it irritated me a bunch but thank CHRIST they stopped doing it as soon as BC (where they're located) lifted the mask mandate

How would it possibly backfire when the media/government narrative is that the unvaxxed are filthy plague carriers who are literally murdering people with their selfish decisions that are based in dangerous conspiracy theories? Anyone who would remotely give a fuck that you lied and committed a felony (where the "victim" is a government agency) to save your job already hates you and wants you in a gulag. The government and corporations already hate you too because you aren't making Pharma money, they already have made up their minds to crush the opposition.

Yes, and those who said "nope, no Jews in my attic, Herr Gestapo Officer, why would a good Nazi like myself be hiding untermenschen here?" means they believed they were wrong or something.

I mean I think I'm doing the right thing by lying and extending my employment so I can turn the funny money I make with my job into actual assets like cryptocurrency, precious metal, or bullets, but you do you. You don't survive in a totalitarian regime by being honest and law-abiding.

You wanna know what most people say doing the right thing involves? It's listening to those in authority over you, and that includes "trusting the science" and obeying all government mandates. Get your fucking vaccine.

I chuckle to myself sometimes, because I think back years ago about people who were strict about x,y,z and now I am considering homeschooling, and the logistics of forming a small group of homeschooled kids. Maybe those people were on to something back then, and I was too young to understand the real reasons behind it all. Those Amish don't seem so crazy anymore, I mean look where we are now.

Fuck you Biden you demented drooling puppet, I'll have you know Lichen is some of the slowest growing stuff on Earth (species depending) and I am going to drag everything out for my employer, every excruciating millimeter is going to require the maximum of effort from them, and it's not going to matter, I am not going to budge, but I am going to make sure they think I will. The smartest lichens know to grow their foundation on rocks, just like it's said in the Bible, and I am on the biggest boulder you've ever seen.

@Drain Todger

I've been on boards where I watched that literally happen in real time, over the course of months and years. As soon as the tranny jannies take over, they start booting out all the right-wingers, libertarians, iconoclasts, and neckbeards, leaving only the centrist lemmings and howling progressives. It would be a total disaster if that happened here. TBH, I think the only thing that's preventing it is the fact that everyone here is united over their shared love of poking fun at retards, and everyone else is avoiding the place for the same reason. The very premise of the site is the only filter, the only litmus test that keeps that terrible cycle from repeating and allows free speech to flourish.

I've thought about this; I don't think a left wing KF could exist. Almost every thread here would be removed and the OPs banned for various -phobia infractions. So what you'd have left is a few threads on wingnat types, Trump, and news. In short, pretty dull.

The KF leftists might say that 'we' on the right would do something similar, but to be honest, to be on the right you have to have thick skin. I'm used to taking abuse, a thread mocking a Republican politician or two isn't going to offend me. It's better to stay an equal opportunity mocker (that dreaded 'both sidesism').
