It's the only card I see Heilberg being able to play at this point. I won't bat an eyelash if it works.As others have pointed out, an insanity defense is really not viable, but they should make it anyway, to introduce evidence on his mental health so that it can be used later at the sentencing phase as a mitigating factor, to balance out any aggravating factors that are there.
What really going to hurt his defense is Chris' lack of empathy or remorse for his mother.
I don’t fancy his chances on that one. Chris couldn't hold it down during the bond hearing.Heilberg is going to have to keep his client on a short leash because tard tantrums like Chris has are, if anything, going to make the jury dislike him even more.
