Milley's actions are appalling. Not only did he consult with an enemy, he also acted without respect for civilian control of the military. President Trump may have been a lot of things, but a warmonger he was not.
Was thinking about something while cleaning the house.
Some talk here about Civil War 2.0. Some seem hot to see all sorts of bloodshed and disruption. I sure am NOT, and here's why.
America, like all other developed countries, including Russia, China, and Iran, survives as a nation thanks to a very extensive, very interdependent web of goods and services, all tied together by transport and communications of various types. We've already seen how little it takes to disrupt that fragile web. The web is fragile because various participants don't spend the money for some level of redundancy on their part.
Going to jump to farming here. Many, many people believe food comes from a store, and/or a farmer's market. They've only seen a farm on TV or online.
American farming produces prodigious outputs only because they have access to large-scale inputs. A farmer needs to buy nearly everything needed to grow crops/raise livestock, from seeds, to machinery, to chemicals, to fuel and energy, you name it. If they can't get the inputs, or enough of the inputs, those outputs aren't going to show up, much less leave the farm to be sold. These inputs can come from all over.
American farmers, as a whole, don't grow the food needed for a balanced diet, even for themselves. American farmers are specialists, overall. They may grow grain, or raise animals, or grow other sorts of crops. They may have gardens but in most areas don't grow things like citrus fruits, or certain vegetables, or all the little delicacies that enhance an otherwise monotonous diet. Farmers often buy the things they could raise on the side.
We live or die as a country based on our farmers. Only idiots would want to disrupt the web for long.
Nor, as previously stated, do I see large-scale strife. Could see some small-scale actions and some domestic terrorism. Am FAR more concerned about cyberwarfare. Not all the smart people work for government/'Big Tech".
We, sadly, are now a nation that runs scared, ever since 9-11. Yet those who think they are in charge believe they can keep goading the people forever, without any proportional reaction. Today's recall election in CA is one example of unhappy people still trusting change can come through the ballot box. You are seeing governors right and left defying the Biden regime's oppressive ukases. This will only grow, can see much more and more widespread civil disobedience, and more and more often with either nothing being done by law enforcement or with law enforcement's active cooperation.
Believe one of the first casualties of a civil war is the death of trust, faith, and confidence in government, law enforcement, the judiciary, and the media at ANY level. Certainly happening now, been that way for a while. And now those who think they are in charge are doing their best to destroy people's faith in the military, one of the last institutions that has, until very recently, enjoyed most people's trust. It would seem a better strategy to do everything possible to gain people's support in every way. Guess "they" believe they can handle the pushback. But what happens when the pushback kicks them right square in the nuts with steel-toed boots? What would "they" do if their Washington-based command and control systems are knocked offline by cyberwarfare? What if one or more of the various "A's" is rendered insensible electronically? Or the Federal Reserve goes down? Or some ICBMs in silos self-destruct? Can think of many things. It is foolish to put ANYTHING past Americans. Look at Timothy McVeigh, the "unabomber", George Metesky, the "mad bomber", those who bombed the Haymarket, etc. There's a tradition that goes way back, if you will.
Governments run off the consent of the governed. More and more people are withdrawing their consent to be governed by "them".
I don't advocate violence. I would likely not live long during an all-out civil war, for various reasons. Am more concerned about kids and grandkids.
What to do, Uncle Joe? First, get your news and information from a variety of sources. "They" control the mainstream media and count on you to unquestioningly accept whatever bullshit they feed you. Vote for people who reflect good values. Run for office yourself if you can keep your integrity once in office. Civil disobedience, or just ignoring certain laws, could be an option. Keep speaking truth to "power" - they are FAR more afraid of you than you are of them. Remember 1/6, when those who fancied themselves masters of the people hid like a bunch of total cucks when the people came calling. "They" got the shock of their lives. "They" don't see Antifa/BLM as a threat at all, but they are scared shitless of the American people. Well, if I worked my hardest to fuck over the American people at every turn, believe I might also be concerned about what the American people might do.
On a side note, read Nicki Minaj's tweets savaging Joy Reid. Most impressive, need to see many more like that from others.
