Another MASSIVE begging segment + the sudden "discovery" of the obligatory behind-the-scenes tip before going on break.
"Tips are the WORST I've seen in a very long time!":
Boy you could really see the man behind the curtain fumbling on this one.
He said he didn't think to check for the Behind the Scenes tip. There has been a tip like this almost every single stream (except when he already hit the goal) and he suddenly forgot because he was distracted by the game. He didn't forget to beg, however.
Phil did not forget at all. He was trying to hold off on the Silent Bob tip today and leverage it, but his chat was calling out for him to check. His plan was likely to try and bait the gunnars from another paypig over the break because tips were so low, and then also read Silent Bob's when he got back so that he could cross the $80 mark, and bait a hat for the end of the stream. The only reason he didn't do this is because people now know and are asking in chat.
Then, he has the audacity to state that 'some people' (read: one person) started tipping behind the scenes after the StreamLabs ban and has just never stopped doing so.
There was a 3 month period where Phil retconned this and wouldn't acknowledge why there was no pop up for these tips, or would say he
didn't know why they weren't triggering popups. He now casually explains that he has known this the whole time as though he had not spent several months flatly lying about it.
To circle back to where we started, if this has been the case for such a long time, why would you suddenly forget to check to see if there is one. You've done it every stream since the person started tipping like this.
Just insane the nonsense going on with these tips.
