Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Unfortunately, it does, without fraud. Elder got way more press than Newsom's last opponent. Normally, governor elections in states like New York or California are mere formalities, with very little in the way of serious opposition. So enthusiasm is largely ignored and you see considerably lower turnout than would be expected for a state their size.


What happened here was that the recall vote became a defacto gubernatorial race, with a lot of money and focus on turnout. And in a D v R race in California.... This by the way is why Recall races are set up like they are, to ensure it comes down to D v R.

Maybe hidden in the 70% that "already voted".

I don't think that issue affected every polling station, but I can't help but think that the 30% of people not affected by the issue is approximately one third of people...

The red regions surround the green like a condom, but CA is so frequently on fire that said condom had melted and has no protective benefits anymore.

If Travis Allen had gotten the nomination in 2018, this result wouldn't be so much of a shocking different.

At least it's easy to see where the energy truly is on both sides.

That's their biggest problem - their party tends to attract the overly emotional and flamboyant. I really wouldn't want to be a Californian citizen right now, dad caught you trying to tell on him to child services and he almost lost his job - now he's gonna really let you have it.

Also it is deeply concerning to me that there are so many Californians on this board.

It makes sense, California gave them all a nice view of what's to come if nothing stops it.

This is basically going to be elections nationwide from now on. Democrat candidates winning by huge often nearly impossible margins and anyone who objects or questions it will be harassed by the media and federal law enforcement. With the exception of a handful of red states America will be a one party state with a pre determined ruler like Russia.

Wouldn't need a meeting of their top-level guys for that. The only time you get a meeting like this is when fears of spying are in play. Otherwise, a teleconference would be fine.
