Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I do love America. I love the idea of a shining republic that shines upon a hill and acts as a guiding light to the world. I love the tales of Johnny Appleseed leaving apple trees across the US east of the Mississippi. I love the sight of the Capitol building in white, a temple to the ideas of the Founding Fathers.

But the past few years have shown those sweet ideas, those wonderful things, have been torn apart and thrown down. They are no more than relics of another era, another epoch. I hate what America has become, and am sorrowful for what was that turned into what is. But I do love a certain kind of America, I suppose. Maybe it can be found in Middle America, one that still may remain for another few years. But after a few years, what then? It won't last.

I wish only to return America to that idea, to at least get close enough to brush against it. I do love America, but I hate what it has become.
America is unique but it's not a sacred temple or anything, the Founding Fathers warned against this kind of veneration and explicitly made of point of stating it was better to start over than keep flogging a dead horse.

You don't love America, you love the idea of America. You got to really love her, warts and sagging rear end and all. If she's sick you make sure she takes her medicine, bitter pill that it may be. Helping her get back into shape so she can be the America we all know and admire is what someone who truly loves America would do.

Leave, we'd all be better off.

Just returning to visit the little corner of California that I grew up in it's gotten noticeably worse. Petty crimes are through the roof now and a friend started working at my old elementary school, which he laughed and called a 'ghetto school' when I mentioned I'd gone there.
I'm watching bad things happen to the places I spent my life in, too. Conflict is easier when you can at least get a win in, but I don't think we're allowed to have a win these days.

Found this yesterday and I keep listening to it, the mix of the song, comms, and memories make the noggin jog. The world made sense on the battlefield, but it doesn't now. I understood now what my father tried to tell me about that. He just kept going irregardless, so I guess we might as well, too.

You'll be our newest Kiwi inside man.
AND I'm in a big Uni here too, lol. Get ready to hear all the stuff our Chief Racist Officer* tells us!

*My damn uni has an "equity officer" who is, of course, a nigger who emails race-baiting shit weekly. It's slowed down but if this is normal, the lemming behavior of the California electorate makes too much sense.

It is. They were always pozzed, don't get me wrong, but after St. Floyd's martyrdom it was like a switch was flipped (or a dial turned up, I suppose) and they seemed to try and fit 'equity' and 'anti-racism' into as many school emails as possible. I'd almost never seen equity used in the context it's commonly seen in now before, people always said 'equality' but whatever 'anti-racist' nu-speak dictionary that went out last summer must've emphasized it.

While this is going on, Manchin just cucked on the Dems Commandeering Elections Act.
A fucking debit card counts as voter identification? Wonderful, now the niggers and illegal spics with no ID can vote without anyone checking.

At least this requires sixty senators to pass it, but holy fuck, if it does, then we need to totally rethink what the purpose of a government should be.

Can we really have a society that works for 320 million people that won't just end up having the elites holding all the cards? If not, then we need to consider localizing everything, even if that means breaking the country into thousands of different pieces. Doesn't have to be literal, but most definitely has to be figurative. It's as if the higher the population is, the harder it is for leaders to consider the will of the people.

Also I'm with you regarding midterm, I'm not sold on Republicans taking back either legislative chambers in 2022. They need to learn, as @GuntPunt pointed out, to stop candidate races from turning into "The X Republican Candidate Show". The DNC will cheat, steal, and lie to expand the majority in both Houses if they can get away with it.

Funny enough assuming this election is legitimate with negligible fraud.

The Democrats tried to stop the recall by removing signatures then filed a court case to stop it. Then went full blown insane beyond TDS by calling Larry a white supremacist.

For such an easy win, they lost their shit hard.
I like to think they are like Karen's in a restaurant who got a menu with a smudge on it. She lost her shit and the restaurant bent over backwards to appease her, she got what she wanted, but she's still a bitch the rest of the evening. Technically an "easy win" but Karen going to Karen.

My dad used to tell me stories about how nice things were when he grew up. He shipped off to Vietnam a few years after the Hart–Celler Act was passed, a little bit before Puerto Ricans started settling in his town that was right over the river from New York City. By the time he was out of the war in 1970, that town had crime and murder that nobody could comprehend. Robberies were a daily occurrence, windows were being smashed, and the police just couldn't keep up. Everyone began moving out of the area, including him after he came home. Today, the area is like 90% Puerto Rican according to the census. I saw it once as a kid, and it looked about what you'd expect a place destroyed by crimes and drugs to look like. The pictures he showed me before that, though -such a nice place.

He would tell me these stories with great pain. Like other vets he had watched his friends die, everyone treated him like shit when he got home, and then his home wasn't even his home anymore. I don't think I understood the gravity of what he must have felt until just now as I wrote this. God damn.
>Puerto Ricans
You have my sympathies. If it's not some Central American spic, it's the fucking crybaby never wuzzers. They come in crime and rabid leftist more so than beaners.

Plus Kevin Mccarthy is a compromised fucktard taking talking points from a shitlib known as Frank Luntz.

We also got people like Toomey being absolute cunts to their own voters and McConnell butthurt over Herschel Walker, who has a legit chance of winning the Georgia senate seat.

Also the election fraud needs to be addressed and confronted, otherwise low turnout will mean Democrats keep Congress.

They also still got neocon tendencies as well.

I mean I'm not surprised Newsome stayed in office. Its California for God's sake, the worst of the worst.

However, it never ceases to amaze me that people keep voting for the Democrats no matter how much of this nation they destroy. I mean how many major cities have been turned into shitholes under their policies?

The Puerto Ricans that moved into what became the rust belt (Youngstown, Warren, Akron, Pittsburgh, Bethlehem) are less shitty. Newyoricans are a breed of their own.

The farther away they are from NYC or CA the less retarded they are. But ofc there are exceptions, like the ones in Miami/Florida.
Truly, they are a mixed bag of shit lot. Oh well, that's humanity.

Exit polls were showing White and Latino voters are getting real close.

From here:
"In 2018 he got 64% Latino support with Latinos making up 19% of electorate, according to exits."

One thing before anyone tries to do exit poll analysis, don't compare the presidential race in 2020 to the gubernatorial recall effort. In fact, never compare trends between presidential and gubernatorial races. Only compare presidential races to presidential races (and vice versa for other political races)

I love CNN is already pushing the idea that Newsom winning the recall means that Americans want tougher COVID restrictions. Yep, that's what it means when the most Dem-leaning state in the country keeps it's Dem governor.

Strict pandemic policy gets a big win

Newsom's aggressive actions to slow the spread of the coronavirus -- the same restrictions that helped spur the recall election -- got a significant boost on Tuesday night, proving to Democrats across the country that strict pandemic policy can be good politics.

Newsom nodded to this in his election night remarks to reporters, stating that while people voted "no," that vote meant they said, "yes to science, yes to vaccines ... yes to ending this pandemic."

This, more than any lesson coming out of California, is the most likely to permeate other elections later this year and in 2022 -- helping back up Democrats who have pushed strict coronavirus measures to curb the ongoing spread of the Delta variant in the face of a small but vocal opposition.

Newsom staked his campaign on his stringent Covid measures, using them to attack Elder as lax on the pandemic, contrasting himself with Republican governors in Texas and Florida and running fully alongside the new vaccine requirements that Biden announced just days before Election Day.

"We saw the Delta surge as a real inflection moment in this campaign," said Sean Clegg, Newsom's top strategist. "What Delta brought into clear, clear focus was what the stakes are in this election when one party has basically become an anti-science, anti-vaccine, anti-public health party."

I recall the story going that this spy breached a database and pulled a whole lot of critical information. At that time Feinstein was chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, so we can imagine the scale of what was taken. The part I can't fully recall was how within a year a lot of intelligence assets in China (people) suddenly went missing.

Our human intel networks suck and have for years. The CIA and NSA and the other intel entities are far too enamored of electronic intelligence. They love their toys. Human intel, on the other hand, is difficult to come by and requires a level of trust on both sides. It's hard to acquire and hard to maintain. Lots of intelligence failures over the last 25 years make a lot more sense when you understand that the intel community doesn't have anyone on the ground and doesn't trust human intel anyway, unless it's confirmed by electronic intel.

As I understand it, the FSB in Russia has done a great job rooting out our human intel sources, and I imagine the CCP has done a similarly thorough job. And, as you can see from stories that do get publicity, the Russians and especially the Chinese do place great value on human intel. The Chinese in particular are always seeding agents into the US by way of utilizing university students and academics.

Of course, it's a lot easier to find out who's been talking outside of school when you're handed actual lists of the traitors, as has happened with the Chinese and probably the Russians. I think that the Russians were personally handed the intel by Hilary Clinton during her 'Reset Button' phase, as a (beyond retarded) gesture of 'goodwill'. The Chinese have probably gotten their information from several sources, from elected officials and appointed administrators at all levels of US Gov. And, of course, both Russia and China are very good at electronic intel themselves. There's no telling what systems they've penetrated and what they've learned.

Also, Milley isn't exactly wrong about the 1905 revolution foreshadowing the 1917 revolution. In 1905, the uprising was an expression of populist unrest that was brutally crushed by the government. The anger from their methods just kept growing, and every new repressive gesture by the Tsarist government ensured a steady supply of new anger and new recruits. One of the biggest stressors between 1905 and 1917 was the feeling that the government, and especially the Tsar, had no desire to hear legitimate complaints and act on them. They didn't even pretend to listen. Do you see any parallels with current American politics? The easiest thing in the world for the Dems to do after the election was to set up some 'independent' commission with some Dems and some RINOs to 'investigate', and find nothing. That would have placated a few million Trump voters, at least. They'd have something to point to and say "See? We're being fair. We're listening to your concerns." They couldn't be bothered. We won you lost, fuck you and shut up, you stupid peasants. Just feeding the anger.

It's a shame Elder lost, but so it goes. California is a lost cause, when Trump gets elected he should sell the state to China, just for the lols.
